I thought this might be an interesting thread idea. Just someplace to post lyrics that touch you in anyway. Whether they inspire you or maybe they just can't get out of your head. One song I haven't been able to get out of my head for nearly a month now is "That's All I Ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera. I've always loved this song, but since I've seen the movie like four times already, it's permanently affixed. Not to mention it's got special meaning RAOUL No more talk of darkness, Forget these wide-eyed fears. I'm here, nothing can harm you - my words will warm and calm you. Let me be your freedom, let daylight dry your tears. I'm here, with you, …

So at long last, we now have a designated area to highlight debatable or factually inaccurate song lyrics. For instance... "Sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon" - It most certainly does not, Vanessa. "There won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time" - Yes there will, they even have ski resorts. And so on and so forth.

  12. What are your favorite Disney Songs ? Please say who you voted for, give general favs ect. Also, as so why such and such may be missing I do acknowledge that there are of course many great songs but I don't like to overload poll choices (for the sake of competitiveness). Songs are also chosen and ordered by estimated familiarity with our BZ demographic. Enjoy ! Note: More Songs will be added for Part 2... *Edit* Changed to General Discussion .

  14. All of the other instruments are usually anyone's game to most people. However, many see the drums, bass and the electric guitar (not the acoustic as much) to be a man's game generally. That said, there are women that hold their own in these departments .

This may or may not be of interest.. For those unaware, Triple J is a national Australian radio station, and every year they hold a poll for the country's favourite songs of the year, called the Hottest 100. It bills itself as the 'largest music poll in the world', and gets over 1 million votes (every year seems to get bigger, with 2012/13 getting a record 1.5 million). It's a real institution in this country, and just this weekend they had a special mid-year vote for the 'Hottest 100 of the past 20 years', to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the countdown. The list: 100. Beastie Boys - Intergalactic 99. Lana Del Rey - Video Games 98. Jebediah - Leaving Home 97…

The Kills is a rock band formed by American singer Alison Mosshart ("VV") and British guitarist Jamie Hince ("Hotel"). The Kills debuted in 2002 with the “Black Rooster” EP, released on Domino Records. The duo's debut full-length album, “Keep on Your Mean Side,” was released the following year. The album peaked at #47 on the U.K. Albums chart, while the single "Fried my Little Brains" peaked at #55 on the UK Singles chart. The Kills followed up with “No Wow” in 2005 which was the first of the group's releases to chart in the United States, peaking at #18 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers Albums chart. “No Wow” also charted in the U.K., Belgium, France, and the Netherland…

Being discovered on Youtube in the recent years has become a huge trend. I love finding new music and listening to covers. So here post your favorite artists and there original songs or covers. Avery is a very, very talented young girl who signed with Universal records. She has recorded music with producers who worked with Avril L., Cody Simpson, Justin Bieber, and Demi Lovato.

  19. Pretty self-explanatory really... Post pictures of artists you think are hawt, either because they're talented physically, musically or a combination of both. Feel free to include the name, band and an explanation for your selection/s (so we can abuse google search). Fred, feel free to troll. I'll get things started with... Emily Haines She read a poem in the middle of her concert. A poem!!! Karen O Her energy is infectious Lykke Li Her voice *drool* Alessandra and Claudia Deheza (School of Seven Bells) Hot twins. You can pick and choose if you want. Rock as it was then defined was obviously huge (and probably more diverse than its ever been both style and ethnicity wise, imagine that :| ) in the 50s, but I'm assuming rock wasn't as much band oriented until the 60s? But do as you please . 50s-00s or 60s-00s. Or just one and come back to the others later...I was going to do a poll, but I wanted to give more possibility, plus its hard for a poll to make it in the music subforum trying to live on 70% ninja voters . You can disclose whether your list is your opinion of "best" or your favorites or you can do one for both if you like. Hard, soft, heavy, light, progressive, alternativ…

These ones are usually just regarded for being "the best". Please, do not use this topic to bash and say "Oh, Well those bands suck. You should've used...", ect. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it all. Thank you! VOTE!
