I don't know if VS will keep Doutzen in their team. She never does anything for the brand for a looooong time (no campaign, only one event in the year, etc). And with her pregnacy, it's just more worrying.

And I love Miranda's ad. She is just so beautiful. She is never vulgar, on contrary to some others VS models, who are always "too much", especially when they strike poses (mouths always opened, etc.). Sometimes, it's just ridiculous. Miranda is so fresh! I think it's a real advantage to seem young for a model.

She missed the 2007 show to receive an award in the Netherlands. It was the same year VS offered her a contract, though she didnt sign until 2008. Doutzen herself confirmed that she is pregnant and engaged. She also mentioned that she told VS early in the pregnancy so that she could take a break from working for them and return after she gives birth,

As much as I love you sweetie, I'm in the group of people who thinks Miranda has the air is an underage girl. It's not even her fault. Her features are very childlike and while perhaps we are ALL aware that she isn't underage, it can still be a little uncomfortable to watch her try to be sexy. One of the reasons I don't like watching her traipse around her undies is because although she does exude demure sexuality, her looks coupled with this type of 'sexiness' does give off a slightly pedophelic vibe. Whether you see it or not, is kind of not a big deal because she is of age, and if you enjoy her more power to you.

Ale for Bra? Ale as being non-memorable in her opening?

This is how the years have opened, and honestly only 2 (2003 and to some extant 2008) were memorable.... so?

2003 - opening was angel coming from the sky, aerodynamic show - lights/fire adriana opened the show, music,(heavy fast beat perfect to have a strong memorableish walk) and lights both complimented the outfit, still not memorable, she didn't own the runway, gisele coming from behind her was more memorable.

2004 - no show

2005 - Gisele opened the show, with a cute catchy little intro in box turning towards the crowd wearing the fantasy bra with a bunch of girls standing behind her. It was a cute outfit, it had wings, it was santa/christmas related it was overall done really really nicely.

2006 - the music/lights, it pumped you up, justin timberlake came up out of the floor. Gisele came out with the first walk, but the central focus remained on the musical talent, even with the catchy little gimmicks from Justin you rarely noticed her unless the camera fully focused on her with nothing in the background.

2007 - Musical act opens, flashing set, Adriana points and gestures to the singer and the crowd, but as an overall she doesn't own the runway, she has to compete with Will.I.am and fails.

2008 - Adriana opens, it's memorable because of her little opening act where she's removing clothing and jewelry going out to the stage not to mention Usher is rather boring. But when she's out on stage she's still not overly memorable, we remember the outfit because of the intro with her walking through the back set, not because of the runway. I remember Heidi stealing Ushers hat more then anything and Karolina flirting with him.

2009 - Flashing lights, similiar to a musical concert, not to mention zero build up to Ale's entrance and the camera going back to the singers constantly it's hard to keep your attention on her. Not to mention with the retarded walking and the over smiling, pointing gesturing and swishing it just fell flat.

People saying Ale doesn't have the stage presence because she wasn't memorable in an atrocious monstrosity of an outfit in 2009 clearly haven't thought back to almost every other outfit she's worn in the past years.

Candy outfit, nailed it. Dragon outfit, nailed it. With Justin Timberlake when she walked out, she was fun, she was flirty, she seemed to be the only model who he really took much notice of above and beyond the obvious normal flirtation of a performance. When she opened up with the big white wings and the playing cards on it she killed it, she looked amazing.

And last but certainly not least, possibly one of the most memorable outfits VS has ever put out. Her Sexy Little Santa. I know people who think VS and that is what they think. Best Santa, most memorable outfit, it was perfect.

So saying she doesn't have the runway presence based on one runway walk where she wasn't set up to look good is ridiculous. Because if that's the case Adriana will never look hot again, especially not in the VS catalog ( )I'm not saying she'll get the bra, or open the show, but this is interesting to note.

Every year when they start looking at girls for the Fantasy bra, this is the background that they use. It's kind of a mock markup of the bra and what it could possibly look like.

Pheno I usually agree with you dear, but that bra has nothing to do with the fantasy bra. The design a bra every year (usually the secret embrace the last 2 -3 years) with embellishments on it, and it never ever has centered around the bra. As for the background, that has not really that I remember (if ever) been used for the fantasy bra. Plus this far into the game when that pic was shot the bra had already been chosen for someone and it most likely had been shot.

I don't think we really need to compare who is memorable on the runway...because EVERYONE has different opinions. Most people on the net think Adriana and Gisele are the best openers contrary to what you state, and their openings are loved. Most people (even some die hard Ale fans) think she couldn't open a show to save her life (Ale). I think it's all subjective. IMO Ale doesn't have any presence whatsoever, IMO she's the "supporting cast" I think her fans are going to remember her, but it's no secret Pheno you don't like Dri, so of course you aren't going to think she's good at opening. I don't care for Ale for several reasons (one being she calls her own paps) but I've had my times where I can on and off, but my base on her presence is watching her on other shows not just vs and she just doesn't have that BOOM factor when opening the show. I think Ale is great at runway, and I think she can sell an outfit in the VS show and other shows (like the Candy outfit you mentioned and others) but I don't think she has what it takes to open a show, IMO look at Heidi she's one of their biggest stars and has never opened a VS show, because she doesn't have that boom factor to open it. Does that mean she isn't good at what she does? No. It just means she doesn't have the walk and the presence some others did in the past to open the show.

There are always going to be people who think Adriana, Gisele, Heidi, KK and whatever and whoever did it better...but it's totally subjective.

All of us have our favorite angels, shows, and etc but in the end we are going to always think our girl did better or someone didn't do as well or whatever, but in the end if the models are happy with what they are doing...then good for them and that's really all that matters

If that picture was posted in June, then yes, it had already been shot. And I've never seen that background either. If we want to talk about backgrounds the black robe, lights, and mirrors is one that we always see before (and after) the Fantasy Bra is revealed. And the base of the bra this year will probably be the Incredible bra since it's coming out soon. It would be nice if the bra didn't have a base though.

Usually yes I favor Adriana, I don't think she's the greatest model by any means...but I also won't let people bash her on things that are subject ONLY to opinion. I guess it amazes me that this board is allowed to continually bash certain models and kiss the asses of others. I adore Adriana, can't stand Ms Ambrosio, anyone with a mediocre of sense knows that a company doesn't get rid of their top sellers, top movers and shakers. Common Sense, which plenty of people seem to lack.

Anyway, yes I do believe what I said. I think everyone thinks their favorite stood out of made a better opening, but we can all think Adriana, Ale, KK, Gisele whatever think is best, but VS picks and chooses who they think is best...eh we'll see who they pick this year. Although again it's easy to predict...oh VS why are you so predictable?

Just on a side note I'm not a huge fan of Ale anymore either.. and I didn't find her opening at all memorable, aside from it being horrible. However my main point there is that out of the last 10 years only 2 years or so have actually had memorable show openers, and it wasn't just because of the model, it was also the intro to the show/props and a buildup of music and lights... Gisele has hands down had the best walk aside from Naomi on the VS runway, not saying the other girls are bad, but those two women are like sleek cats gliding down the runway.

Why everyone still cares about the opening now? We all know it's going to suck anyways, it will be Mode vs. Performer, & the performer will always get more camera time/attention. It could be Adriana, Ale, Miranda or even Gisele again but they will always have to compete with the performer. Best opening? 2005 & previous years. Why? It was only the model, all the eyes on her, the way it should be.

Fantasy bra. Yeah, it will suck again too, just like it sucked in 2007, 2008 & 2009, why? Because probably won't be opening a segment or getting an special 'opening' or mention like back in 2006 when Kk opened the last segment with everything looking 'inspired' by the bra. Yeah Selita got to open the last segment in 2007 too, but it was Selita & The Bra vs. Seal. & clearly in VS opinion Seal deserved more attention than Selita & her horrible bra

The runway presence, it's subjective. Everyone will say his/her favorite model has a better/more presence than the other girls. Some people will say Karolina sucked, i think she was the best thing ever on the runway. Some people will say that Alessandra is great, i think she needs to close her mouth at least for a second. Some people will say Adriana is the best, i think she needs to stop doing weird/creepy things on the runway (& i love her to death, but sometimes i want to punch her). Some will say Abbey Lee looks adorable/funny, i think she looks like an idiot. See? Nobody will ever agree

Well, at least the Enchanted Forest segment was good.

IMO look at Heidi she's one of their biggest stars and has never opened a VS show, because she doesn't have that boom factor to open it. Does that mean she isn't good at what she does? No. It just means she doesn't have the walk and the presence some others did in the past to open the show.

It's just that they save the best for last. Heidi closed a lot of the shows but as far as I know, Carmen Kass is the only model to ever open & close, so of course, if they pick Heidi to close, somebody else will open.

lol, no worries sweets. I guess I just have a hard time seeing it. probably, for me, I find her to more innocent look as a breath of fresh air. But, as the saying goes, to each their own. yes, i do agree she does look much younger than most models, and at tiems is trying too hard to be sexy.
