April 28, 201510 yr Author Well I just woke up to this news and you know what I think it's fantastic. Forget about how many girls it is and all that yadda yadda. For once VS genuinely surprised us. Not only that but that lineup for VS standards is very diverse. We have two girls of colour in there and girls from around the world. It's a healthy mix of girls. There is no way that all 10 will make it. I would say most of these girls have only been contracted for a full year maybe 2. But come on people it's a whole new fresh crop of girls. I think for once this is exciting. Whether you like them all or not you can't deny that we have something to look forward to. Sure I wouldn't have picked Romee or Kate G but clearly they stood out for VS. I thought Kate was amazing on the runway. Sara, Taylor, Elsa, Jac, Jasmine yay I'm excited. But I'm so happy and pumped for Martha, Stella and Lais. Especially Lais because it seemed like it was never happening and then now she's finally in that group of girls.I think Adriana and Alessandra are done after the next VS show. Those contract negotiations now after this seem true. VS want them for one last hoorah. I can see Lily finishing out her year and then it'll just be Candice and Behati and all the new girls. Let's get this party started VS.All we hope is VS can figure out how to market each girl and be able to get as many girls into the public eye so they can "make it".
April 28, 201510 yr I'm cool with with all the girls except Romee, Kate and Taylor (who I adore but ...) they've barely done any work with VS and I feel like VS jumped the gun with them, especially Kate who again I'll remind you all that doesn't even speak English, unless of course she took an intensive English class after the VSFS. I do like the surprise factor here (Y) I can't wait to see the new girls in commercials and as Kev mentioned, for once we have a very diverse group of women and not a bunch of girls who look the same even if some all you love to say "X, W and Z look the same" just because they have the same hair color. Oh and ... How the fuck can I open one of those group PM's?

Jac: Happy for her Martha & Stella: nope nope nope Elsa: finally Romee & Taylor: uhhhh, way too soon Sara: like her as a model, but do not see her as an angel If it were up to me, I would have just contracted Elsa and Lais as ANGELS. The other girls still should work for the company, but as regular contract models. I wish Gigi was a part of the announcement. She as more 'it' factor than any of the other girls. In fact, I would have no problem if VS signed her too. Thank god Rachel and Nadine didn't make it. Phew.true true and more true...!! Definitely taylor, romee and kate debian one years more work with VS .. marttha and stella not deserve to be angels , I would have preferred to give the contract to josephine she is OMG

April 28, 201510 yr I'm not sure why you all feel that they have to have done x amount of work before a contract is warranted. Candice had barely worked with the company and was booked shortly after her first show, hell Adriana wasn't a huge model with them, walked in 1999 and then was booked. Hell KK wore the fantasy bra before being booked as an angel, there isn't any real rhyme or reason to how long or much work a girl has to do before they are acceptable for one of those quote on quote coveted contracts.It seems like everything has to be justified in everyone's head. Life isn't fair, business isn't fair. How long did Marisa Miller have to work with them or try out with them before being booked? Was that fair? Was she somehow inferior? No of course not, and she was quite successful as an angel. Oh and to top it off how many years did Julia Stegner do catalog work and walk for them, and yet she never got an angel spot. With all the weight she had to carry on her back with the heavy ass wings they gave her, she clearly deserved it more then anyone else.

Sara and Jac will probably be used quite a bit as well, and I could see Kate and Taylor just kind of ending up somewhere in the background.
April 28, 201510 yr Happy they picked Martha, Stella, Monika, Romee and Sara. Surprised by Taylor and Kate. Indifferent towards Elsa, Jasmine and Lais. Like many others I'm shocked at no Josephine. Kind of surprised at no Vita too. If they had done this sooner maybe we would have had Camille Rowe and Bregje Heinen.

What is the point of investing time and money in someone who you know you'll have to drop soon? This is VS giving us the new generation of Angels, will all of them make it? Nope, but I'm sure at least half of them will stay for the long run and take over Adriana/Alessandra - Candice/Behati when the time comes.
