We have a thread for guitarists, bassists and singers... But we were lacking one for the rhythmic base! Those who keep the rhythm and the tempo, the backbone of any Rock, Pop, Funk, Soul, Blues, Jazz, etc band you can think of. We were missing on the drummers! Not anymore! It's time to give recognition to those who create magic with the rhythm behind the drum set (and sometimes other percussions)! So I invite to post your favorite drummers here! I'll start with one from my own country and without a doubt one of the best drummers EVER: Mr. Gabriel Parra from Los Jaivas Same so…

I recently started listening to Megadeth fairly heavily. Now, quite a long time ago I had gotten the album Youthanasia from the local library, and I really liked it. After that I always found some reason to keep putting off buying an album. Finally, this Christmas I used one of my gift cards to buy Rust In Peace. I was deeply impressed. I was expecting an album with a few good tracks, and a lot of filler. But it's really solid all the way through; sure, some tracks aren't as good as "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" or "Hangar 18," but songs like "Poison Was The Cure" and "Lucretia," that aren't nearly as well known, are brilliant. Literally my only complaint with the alb…

You can vote on http://www.thisdayinmusic.com Some Facts: As a songwriter, Berry Gordy had his first hit in 1957 with Reet Petite, sung by Jackie Wilson. Post your favorite songs from the 00's. The early 00's had some good music, but not as good as the 80's or 90's imo. Still good though.

So, do you like Punk Rock? What do you think about it? Well, I'm not the biggest Punk listener, and I'm not THAT familiar with the genre, as I am with another kinds of Rock music. So it would be great to get some feedback and recommendations in this thread too. I listened quite some Punk though when I was 14 - 15 years old, specially the '70s Punk: the bands I listed in the poll. Around that time actually I started writing my own songs, inspired by The Sex Pistols. As for the poll, I listed the "first" three important bands of the genre, as there are so many other around the end of the '70s, early '80s. My vote there goes to The Clash Some music: Proba…

So, everyone has heard of Randy Rhodes. Everyone will agree he is the shit, and all his licks are extreamly well put together, fluid, faster than a kid gets food on his face, and darker than Allister Crowley's soul. Why you might ask? I heard once he sold his soul to satan... I don't know why, but I find that REALLY easy to believe... As satan was at one time the Angel of music, so why wouldn't he grant someone amazing musical talent for their soul? DISCUSS!

This thread works by someone asking if anyone knows a band/singer that sounds like a particular favourite of theirs. For example, If someone asked for a band that sounded like Coldplay, someone else could say Snow Patrol, or Keane or whatever. So, to start off, i'd like to plunder the collective wealth of musical knowledge of Bellazonians and ask; Does anyone know of a band that sound like The Chemical Brothers. My knowledge of dance music is poor, so help me out here guys.

Vote for the greatest rock anthem. RULES and Such 1. I eliminated songs from the 1950s and prior because those are the songs that laid the foundation of rock music, so I didn't want to run the risk of them not getting the votes that their impact would warrant. 2. I for the most part eliminated a lot of songs from the 80s-now because I wasn't sure whether enough time has passed to tell whether some of them have really stood the test of time and grown to a bigger impact and visibility than their cult following since the focus is songs that go even beyond merely the parameters of die hard rock fans. 3. And BTW, just in case someone is thinking, "hey, such and such …

I borrowed this idea from another forum and thought it looked like fun. It's mainly for users of Photoshop, or indeed, any kind of image making software. Here's how to play - 1) Go to Wikipedia and click on "Random Article" (Or click this link) The title of the first random Wikipedia article you get will be the name of your artist or band. 2) Go to "The Quotations Page" and click "Random Quotes" (Link) The last few words of the very last quote on the page will be your album's title. 3) Go to Flickr and click on "Explore the Last Seven Days" (Link) Grab the third picture you get, no matter what it is, and crop it to a square. This will be your album cover. 4) Make…

All of the other instruments are usually anyone's game to most people. However, many see the drums, bass and the electric guitar (not the acoustic as much) to be a man's game generally. That said, there are women that hold their own in these departments .
