You guys still didn't answer my question....

If VS really doesn't need Ale and Adriana, why do they still shell out millions for them each year for relatively little work?

Surely if they felt like star power wasn't essential, VS wouldn't still be supporting models like Ale and Adri when they can easily financially replace them with 6-7 full time working girls.

Is not essential but if you can have it, why turning it down? :idk: Alessandra & Adriana clearly had a great relationship with VS so far so it's a win win for everyone, but I don't see VS crying over losing Tyra, Heidi or Gisele, they pretty much gave zero fucks about them leaving. The only one who got something 'special' was Tyra and it was mostly because she was officially retiring from modeling and not because VS was worried about their $ after she left. Adriana and Alessandra are not making as much with VS anymore either because they cut their work load, the fact that VS let Adriana go back to Maybelline shows you how little they care about it these days.

Don't kid yourself Gab, models are replaceable but the VS money pays their girls in most cases is not replaceable or at least not easily, especially when you are 25+ in an industry were you peak at 20 (or younger). That's why the models stick around with the brand for so long if they are given the chance.

Back in the 90's and early 00's VS did need famous women to establish themselves and gain loyal costumers, now they have that and they know people will buy their products regardless of who is wearing them, that's why they don't have to get established models like Joan and pay her a shit lot of money when they can have cheap little Grace/Lais/Daniela sell the same product to the same target audience for a cheaper price.

Lol, you mean because VS has a nice relationship with Ale and Adriana, they just have millions sitting their for them annually waiting for them to grab it and go back home even though they don't have much to do with them? Like, this isn't a business at all. I see your logic. And wasn't the reason why Adriana went back to Maybelline because VS stopped the beauty line or something like that?

When was the last time Adriana wasn't involved in all the major VS press related stuff? I mean, she fronts every single press related thing by VS and sometimes alone.she don't need to be in no catalog no more, just the illusion that she's everything thing VS works well. And lets not pretend VS didn't hold on to Heidi until the first greys of her hair popped out or that they basically exploited Gisele.

of course they will move on it the models leave, but that doesn't mean they don't give a shit.

VS did not stop their beauty line at all  They simply decided Adriana wasn't worth the money she was asking for and let her go back to Maybelline, instead now Jasmine who probably has a much cheaper rate is selling those perfumes and guess what? People is still buying them.

As I said, Adriana and Alessandra are no longer making as much with VS precisely because their work with VS has decreased, even more this year. VS is known to drop models when they start demanding too much, is just that Adriana and Alessandra have decided to stay with the brand instead.

But hey, if you really really want to believe VS is worried or care about their brand after they leave please do so, whatever makes you happy :idk:

Also don't act like Dri, Candice, Lily and Ale were relevant before VS because they were unknown women to everyone, so I don't see how getting new faces now is any different than it was 10-15 years ago when it's literally the same, as much as I'd like to see some well known girls getting contracts i don't understand why everyone bitchs about the new girls being random girls o.o

Because if Adriana and Ale did more work than what they do they'd have to pay a lot more. And soon enough they won't even pay them anymore.

Ok, I stand corrected. I could've sworn I read something like VS beauty not working anymore...ssomething like that. But are you going to hurry up and tell us the position you hold at VS or what? or you're just incredibly talented in making your presumptions come off as facts? Because you couldn't possibly know the main reason why Adriana left VS beauty. It could have been due to countless factors, like maybe she herself wanted to go back to Maybelline, or Maybelline snatched her back when her VS beauty contract ended and offered her more money like VS did when her Maybelline contract eneded all those years ago. Or just because Maybelline is more credible than VS beauty.

Also, just because Jasmine is all over VS beauty now doesn't mean she replaced Adriana. For while she came cheaper, they are selling to different target audiences. Jasmine is black, she's selling to black women, Adriana is selling to Latinas and can even attract Caucasians, the combination is much broader than Jasmine's audience.

And who told you, Ale/Adriana's contracts' have been reduced. While what you said makes sense, because they are indeed working less and less for them. What knowledge of their contracts do you have?

I gotta admit this thread is pretty entertaining in that half of the people here are in this serious discussion about where VS is heading and the role models and supermodels now play in the companies financial and relevant success

And then the other half of us laughing at bedazzled jockstaps and personal hygiene products.

^ Laughing AND crying at the bedazzled jockstrap. I hope they at least give him some wings to go with that, wouldn't want him to be too overexposed.

Oh my God, this thread is pure gold LOL!

I actually know people who works with them :ninja:

It's a combination of both knowing people and having common sense for certain things such as: work load reduced to a minimum -> paycheck reduced to a minimum. As you mentioned yourself, VS doesn't have money sitting just for them :idk:

Anyhow I'm done with this discussion cuz I ain't getting in the "Jasmine sells to black women" shit o.o

Maybelline knew Adriana's VS Beauty contract was ending and basically bought her back. Just like VS did in the beginning. It's all about $$$.

Yeah, they still do fragrances and body washes etc, but they don't have cosmetics anymore, which would have been a conflict with Maybelline.

Because angels leave every year, who do you guys think is the next to go? I have a feeling it might be Lily or Ale. I feel like Ale will go before Adriana. They will probably hold on to Adriana/Candice as long as possible.
