You just have to say real football

And this!

That movie made me think of the slightly modified song lyrics..."It crawled in like a cockroach leaving babies in my head", and now I'm left feeling sad, disturbed and unable to think about much else

A Serbian Film [Uncut]

Quote

Upon its debut on the art film circuit, the film received substantial attention for its graphic depictions of rape, necrophilia and child sexual abuse. The Serbian state investigated the film for crime against sexual morals and crime related to the protection of minors.

The film has been banned in Spain, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Norway, and temporarily banned from screening in Brazil.

@Prettyphile Good to hear that you were disturbed. I love horror movies but some seem to take things so far that I have to question whether the filmmakers are sick individuals themselves.

Have you seen the movie?

No, there are some that I don’t want to watch due to what I’ve read about them like Cannibal Holocaust.

@Sanni

Cannibal Holocaust was only traumatizing if you like animals (two of which were actually killed on camera), other then that it's just damn good props and effects for the time period the movie was made in.... Personally I think A Serbian Film is much worse in terms of shock and just the icky heavy feeling you are left after watching it. There's a certain scene involving a mom (SPOILER)

Spoiler

giving birth (for which they go into detail showing everything and then some}, her newborn and a pedo *you don't see much*, but you can hear the kid screaming and that was more then enough to make me have to take a 10 minute break from the movie

..... by the end of the film you get a tiny bit of satisfaction thinking there might be a happiysh ending, but then the movie bitch slaps you one final time and that's what left me so sad (I was almost in tears)

@Prettyphile Not like animals, LOVE animals. But a good thing is that the director apparently regretted killing those animals. Or maybe he didn’t regret but he wouldn’t make the same decision if made the film now.

Just finished this masterpiece- all 1,160 pages of it:

This is one of the finest and most enlightening books ever written, and in my top 10.  There's nothing like it.  I hope the plans for the HBO miniseries or films eventually get through.  It is at once a biography, urban study, political science, management, and finally..history book.  It has tremendous heart and insight into the human condition.

The original manuscript was 3,000 pages long- and will be published as a series.

Next: Master of the Senate.  1,600 pages left for me to read in the series

Giant python swallows Indonesian farmer in one go

25-year-old who vanished while harvesting his crops found in belly of seven-metre snake

Quote

A farmer has been found inside the belly of a giant python after the swollen snake was caught near where he vanished while harvesting his crops in Indonesia.

The body of Akbar, 25, was found inside the seven-metre (23ft) python, which had been spotted slithering awkwardly in the village of Salubiro, on the eastern island of Sulawesi, on Monday.

“We were immediately suspicious that the snake had swallowed Akbar because around the site we found palm fruit, his harvesting tool and a boot,” said Junaidi, a senior village official.

Worried relatives launched a search for Akbar after he did not return home from the family’s plantation on Sunday.

Junaidi said the snake had swallowed the farmer whole, adding that it was the only such fatality recorded in the region.

This kind of python, which regularly exceeds 20ft, is commonly found in Indonesia and the Philippines. While the serpents have been known to attack small animals, attempts to eat people are rare.

It's going to be 32°C (90°F) where I live on Friday. :chicken:

I have a feeling it's going to be a brutal summer.
