Various explanations were offered for the phenomenon, which soon spread around the world. In 1991, two men named Doug Bower and Dave Chorley revealed that they had been making crop circles in England since 1978 using planks, rope, hats, and wire as their only tools.Circlemakers.org, a UK-based arts collective founded by John Lundberg have been creating complex crop circles since the early 1990s. This is a thread where you introduce your favorite art pieces to BZ. I'd like to limit it to non-performing arts. So paintings, sculptures, architecture, an conceptual art are all acceptable. To get us started: Resurrezione di Lazzaro by Caravaggio Before I start explaining why I like this painting, I should probably mention that I am a great admirer of abstract art. Just believe me when I tell you that the picture I included above does not even capture 1/100th of the power of seeing this piece in…

Was shocked to see neither of them had a mention, two of the most incredible writers in modern history. Hunter S Thompson is god In my eyes, and Irvine Welsh is the master of Modern Novels. Any fans?

Thomas Kinkade is America's most collected living artist. Coming from a modest background, Kinkade emphasizes simple pleasures and inspirational messages through his paintings. As a devout Christian, Kinkade uses his gift as a vehicle to communicate and spread inherent life-affirming values. It was while growing up in the small town of Placerville, California that these important values were nurtured. It was also during this time that Kinkade began to explore the world around him. He spent a summer on a sketching tour with a college friend, producing the best-selling instructional book, The Artist's Guide to Sketching. The success of the book landed the two young artists…
