This thread works by someone asking if anyone knows a band/singer that sounds like a particular favourite of theirs. For example, If someone asked for a band that sounded like Coldplay, someone else could say Snow Patrol, or Keane or whatever. So, to start off, i'd like to plunder the collective wealth of musical knowledge of Bellazonians and ask; Does anyone know of a band that sound like The Chemical Brothers. My knowledge of dance music is poor, so help me out here guys.

http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news?id=15246 A woman who allegedly shot her husband of two months while dancing to Shania Twain music told a court yesterday that the gun has “just gone off.” Linda West explained to the Winchester court that she was trying to arouse her husband by dancing to the Canadian’s song ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ when she accidentally shot him in the chest. According to Metro newspaper, she said: “I’m holding the barrels of the gun and I’m dancing holding the gun. “I was entertaining my husband. Towards the end of the record, when the record finished, I ended up putting the gun down on the floor to the side of me. “It just went off. It just we…

I don't know about you guys but I was raised with Montovani and the Boston Philharmonic blasting at full volume around the house. I can probably sing through every part of Berlioz's "Symphony Fantastiq"... Anyway, we need representation from people who actually have skill that's been perfected over years and years of playing... and still are open to new ideas. NHK Symphony Orchestra playing Berlioz - Symphony Fantastiq, 5th Movement If you couldn't tell this in combination with the other 4 movements was about what some dude goes through while high on opium... this was written in 1830. NHK Symphony Orchestra with Jean-Pierr Furlan as Faust and Sir Willard White as Mephist…

From http://www.thisdayinmusic.com Sept 11th 2006, a study from the University of Leicester found that more than a quarter of classical music fans had tried cannabis. Researchers were trying to find out what people's taste in music revealed about their lifestyles. The UK study also revealed that blues buffs are the most likely to have received a driving penalty. Hip hop and dance music fans were more likely to have multiple sex partners and were among the biggest drug-takers surveyed. More than 2,500 people were interviewed for the study, which was published in the scientific journal Psychology of Music.

Well, the title pretty much says it all: those songs everybody seems to lose their minds over or those that are considered timeless classics but you just can't stand or simply don't like. I'll start with: Still Loving You - Scorpions Maybe it's because I used to listened to a radio that abused too much of this song and would program it like everyday. Or maybe it's just that I find it too cheesy? Thing is this songs is regarded as one of THE power ballads and I just hate it

Any other Beatles' fans here? The band was founded by John Lennon around 1956, under the name "The Quarrymen" in Liverpool. They started playing skiflle: covers and some original songs. In October 1957 Paul McCartney joined the band, and under his recommendation, George Harrison was included in 1958. That year, The Quarrymen recorded two songs: one was a Buddy Holly cover, and the other one a McCartney/Harrison original. By 1960, and after going through several names, the band was now called The Beatles. They were now in Hamburg, in Germany, playing in local clubs as the Indra, The Kaiserkeller, and The Top Ten club. While in Hamburg they entered the recording studio, t…

Let's see if this game takes off. The idea is simple: I post a pair of songs -it's original version (or earliest known version) and a cover of it - and the next poster will say which one he or she likes better to then post another pair of original + cover and so on. So, to start things up: Original Cover Edit: I replaced the song because fuck youtube and the labels blocking every Beatles video....

just for fun and because I am listening to Coheed and Cambria right now, one of their albums is called: Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness which was followed by: Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World For Tomorrow which are both ridicuously long titles, but maybe you know something to top them? other than that I like to listen to: The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer by Red Sparowes this one would be my personal runner up, but they (the Red Sparoews) have those pretty lenghty song titles, like: Buildings Began to Stretch Wide Across the Sky, And the Air Filled with a Reddish Glow or Mechan…

So, this is what you do: shuffle your songs on your mp3 player of choice, then post the first 5 songs that come up (no cheating!). There's no prize, but it could be interesting anyway. I'll go first -- 1. Usher feat. Alicia Keys - My Boo 2. Joseph Williams & Sally Dworsky - Can You Feel the Love Tonight (yes, from The Lion King soundtrack) 3. Lenny Kravitz - If I Could Fall in Love 4. Pussycat Dolls feat. Busta Rhymes - Don't Cha 5. Pras Michel feat. ODB & Mya - Ghetto Superstar
