it's kind of unfortunate because agencies put all this pressure on models to have a large follower count so they resort to buying followers.

I know Rhiannon McConnell has been pretty vocal on instagram about how her agency pressures her to have a larger follower count and how she hasnt booked many shows or campaigns because her low follower count. Pretty sad that this is what it's come down to.

Gracie followed me too, but she undid that a week later

So what’s the logic behind the hustle? The model follows someone to get the other person to follow her back and the other person’s friends to follow her and then later she unfollows so that the ratio between her followers and how many she is following makes her look popular?

Barbara Fialho followed me too the other day. I was pretty surprised because I don't even follow her. And I've just checked and realized she unfollowed. How weird!

That definitely seals the deal on her because the trick seems to be to unfollow everyone regardless of whether they followed back or not. Enough people take the bait so in the end the model has gained more followers than what she started out with but she doesn’t follow more people.

Barbara unfollowed 500+ people today so don't feel too bad.  

 

Vita S buys her followers too. She bought 40,000 last year during VSFS and another 40,000 recently when she was doing SI.

That's the real question. I mean, how do you literally do it? 

They're not "real" followers. Companies set up spam/empty accounts and then you just pay for whatever amount of likes or followers you want to buy. 

 

They aren't even trying to hide it.

If you buy them yes, but people like Barbara and whoever else are using an app.
