And they're North Americans some aren't. I mean, how is Emily getting less votes?! I can't comprehend.It's rigged? Last night I was looking over the numbers, and 101% of people had voted. lol Apparently the person who inputs the numbers doesn't know math. 6 hours later and the numbers changed to 99%, and normally a couple of days before they close the voting the numbers all even out to around 20% to 25% for each of the girls, and then it becomes a frantic race to get in the numbers so they load ads onto the SI website and start to cap on revenue from the voters who want to "make their girl win", so each refresh makes them money.

I'm almost 100% Emily (Kate B, Anne V ect) was picked up by SI to appeal to the female audience and to model the swimsuits for the editorial consideration in the publication. (edit: Bottom line, if any of these rookies can sell the product, retailers will pay SI next year and will most likely ask for the girls to come back to sell for them)The type of advertisements in a magazine will give you an idea of the magazine’s target audience. Advertisements for booze, cars, motorcycles, and food suggest that this is a magazine geared towards men, despite the fact that the magazine itself is to showcase designer swimsuits for women. Gotta have a mix of the model, and the pinup right? ( I personally want more pinup,less model thanx)i.e Not fashion pretty, but pretty pretty (Emily) or semi average prettyish (Hello Julie H) and relatable to the average American man and womanThis year SI had a 12-page style guide sponsored by Target o.o Amidst the naked gals in body paint is an ad-sponsored supplement from the retailer that shows women how they, too, can attain that tousled, come-hither look when they’re heading to the beach. Emily can sell comfortably to that target demographic without even trying as she often comes across as not too sexy, family-oriented, and personable to that average woman.."Target spokesman Joshua Thomas notes that “Target has a phenomenally strong swim business” and views SI “as the authority on swim.” The retailer hasn’t advertised in the magazine for a decade or so and has never done anything on this scale. What changed the company’s thinking was the idea of a “minizine,” he says, wherein the company could feature ads that were “very female-focused, showing girls on a girls’ weekend.” Thomas says Target hasn’t yet received any negative feedback.

February 17, 201312 yr I actually think all four rookies were superb this year. Incidentally, I keep a database of SI models and issues, verified by me seeing every issue made. This crop of 4 rookies was the fewest since 1996, when Valeria Mazza and Georgianna Robertson were the only two. Obviously, SI didn't call them "rookies" back then, but hey. Of all the complaints, I too agree with the horrible photoshopping that goes on, especially for the web pics. The magazine pics seem better this year, but the web pics are still just absolutely dreadful. Even the great photos look completely unappealing because of their hack job with photoshop. Just terrible. They hire talented photographers, so why don't they just display the photos as they were taken? Oh, one more thing: It's my first ever Bellazon post! Yay!
