July 8, 201014 yr I'm going to regret stepping in here, however the statement may not have been stupid it was however exceptionally disrespectful and not exactly needed. AnaBBarros I generally agree with your opinions and the way they are voiced however I'm at odds here. I understand that it's your own opinion, just not sure it should have been voiced in this case. I honestly prefer Tara, nothing to do with her weight as I haven't seen any pictures other then those provided and I've never been a fan of Natalia. I could make some crass comments on her face and body however I will not. Competitions like this are subjective as you said, and because it's such a small voting pool in the end mean next to nothing in the greater scheme of things. But in reiteration and closing while it's great that you voiced your opinion I think it could have been done in a less disrespectful fashion, saying that people are more inclined to vote for someone due to their weight is just rather rude. Why would you regret it? I'm not going to flip a shit or anything. As for what I said, I understand perhaps it's an unsavory opinion but I don't think the theory in itself is rude. I believe people are just too sensitive about weight in general. No one batted an eye at the Oedipus Complex theory comment in the porn thread, but the second its about weight a theory offends people. I'm not even saying anything negative about weight. I just mentioned it as an influence in opinion. Whether its right or wrong is kind of inconsequential because its just that, a theory. Nothing I said was explicitly negative, just a matter of taste of psychology.I know, the weight issue on this forum is ridiculous. I think I misconstrued the initial comment made by you in regards to the swaying one way or another due to weight. For some reason I took it that you were stating that ... I don't know I have someone nattering in my ear and my head is about to fall off. I'll come back to this :|Dioni x3Caroline x3Emily x3Catherine x3

July 8, 201014 yr Oh, and AnaBBarrosFan - at first I thought you were a little rude. Then I got your point and I was like - Jesus, that girl is right. I mean, I´ve been watching and noticing women about women thing for too long and such rarely I met someone that thought the same. And I love this discussion The first thing is, the word "weight" all by itself is becoming more than an abuse. I mean, someone calls someone overweight, and the someone called overweight gets automatically abused. But what the hell, WHY should it be any offence? Why shouldn´t we state what we see? Why should the word "weight" mean any offence? You know, when someone calls you bitch, you won´t even blink. But oh Jesus, beware calling someone fat, skinny, overweight or thick. It´s worse than throwing a shue at the president. I mean, why? Because we all want to be fit and slim and happy. We want to be admired for our body more than for our brain or heart. And maybe it´s even more deeper - we want to look and be healthy. When someone calls us overweight or fat (or calls someone else) it reminds us of all the wrong things we´ve done to our body and all the good things we should had done and DIDN´T. IN MY OPINION. And I´m not speaking about those, who cannot change it (problems with thyroid gland or other serious health issues) and nor am I speaking about those who are absolutely confident and happy and healthy in their bodies, even if they are NOT "perfect". Oh, and yes. People mostly tend to find mistakes on beautiful people and have a sympathies with people alike them. I mean - what is the first thing you do when you see someone that is more beautiful than yourself (in your eyes and preferences)? YES, you are trying to find something bad about her, something that would tell you, that even SHE has mistakes and is NOT perfect. And then you look at yourself and remind yourself about the good things about you, that she of course DOESN´T HAVE And when you meet someone that is not perfect in your eyes, overweight or somewhat ugly, you start to find the good and beautiful things about her (if you don´t know her, of course) so that you can tell you are not only more beautiful than her, but also of a kind heart, because you see she´s got a beautiful hair, etc... At least that´s what works with most people. Including me And the last thing - it´s like when an overweight woman wins the Miss or is a model - people will look at her and think "If SHE can do it, why not me?" and they feel just better. And that´s just cool I guess
July 8, 201014 yr Hold on, back up ! Maybe I'm a little slow on the uptake here. Is the real root of this whole thing even about size? (which you two have said somewhat of course). Or is the independent variable really the idea that Natalia is so so beautiful that the only logical explaination of this mere mortal getting a couple votes (and still losing) is 'relatableness' and sympathy ? There are quite a few slim models I would have voted for instead of Tara, I just don't think Natalia's an amazing beauty, I think she's very cute cute, a great model and I love her, but not gorgeous to me and if they were the same size (either size) the other girl probably would have done even better and if it were Rosie O'donnel vs. an otherwise equal yet size 4 twin sister and they competed on babe polls, the size 4 sister would win . Dioni x3Maryna x3 -Emily x1.5 -Du Juan x1.5 Catherine Mc. x3 +1 (Y)
