That is true to some degree however all cultures and most belief systems condemn self-serving behaviors and being a jerk---even if it is relative or subjective. Also, we may share different life experiences but we all have experienced similar emotions like happiness, sadness, anger, fear, etc. There is too much focus on how we differ instead of how we are similar.
