I think Ronda has a unique face that draws people in and she's incredibly famous which would explain her appeal. In this case holly has a virtually non existent q rating and has no sex appeal whatsoever. For what it's worth I don't find Ronda attractive either but others clearly do. I've haven't seen the sexy narrative put out there by anyone for holly.

If it's true that they're putting her in SI, and she's doing body paint, then they're obviously going to try to sell/create that sexy narrative, and that MJ thinks that Holly has it. The selling point I was referring to was more the "rivalry" between the two. It would generate a lot of buzz, that I think SI cares about more lately.  We don't even have confirmation Holly is in the issue, and I already said myself that it was unlikely. I was just throwing ideas out. 

Yea. I don't think she'll be in the issue. I'd be pretty surprised if she got in the issue never mind the cover.

I think that Chrissy was able to work the title of being a SI cover model really well because being on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue made her into a “legitimate” celebrity in the entertainment media. I’m under the impression that Lily is not considered to be a bona fide SI (cover) model but she doesn’t really need the approval of SI readers. I think that being on the cover of SI made her a bigger name in modelling and at Victoria’s Secret e.g. she got the Fantasy Bra.

 

 

 

It was Nina's choice I think, a poor one but still her choice. Girlfriend got the cover and instead of start taking more jobs she moved back to Miami and was put under special request by her agency so she didn't even try to make it big. I'm not entirely sure she still lives in Miami but at least she's in NYC more often and last year she worked more than 2014 for sure. Girls like Kate or Hannah do better after their covers because they simply take more jobs and ride the moment, Nina was just like buh-bye, which as a fan of her I have to say it sucked big time o.o, so hopefully if she gets the cover this time she'll do better.

I also feel like overall, a group cover takes away a lot of impact anyway because you are sharing everything with other girl and in Nina's case she was sharing with Chrissy who will just not shut up about her perfect, fabulous marriage and life and pretty much took over the situation, not even Lily got much recognition either for the cover.

 

I think the Ronda cover was a possibily until the paparazzi (god bless them) leaked the pictures from her shoot and took away the surprise impact, so I can't see it happening anymore. And hopefully it won't because I find Ronda to be absolutely horrid and very very unappealing, I'd take three Chrissy covers over one Ronda cover o.o

Interesting, what you’re saying aligns with the impression that I’ve gotten even though I haven’t followed Nina’s career moves that closely.

Maybe Nina didn’t quite know where she wanted to take her career after she got the cover so the moment kind of fizzled out for her.

Perhaps she still wants to model (instead of moving into hosting/acting) but sharing the cover with two other girls didn’t really provide a big boost for her career because she was already popular among swimsuit clients.

However, being on the cover of SI should mean that there are more opportunities to do beauty/fashion shoots that are aimed at women so maybe the issue is with her management as well.

 

I think that Nina is just not looking to be the next IT girl, maybe she's pretty happy with where she is right now. Nina has never been one to take on a lot of jobs or a lot of traveling, she seems like she much rather chill with her friends and boyfriend, she's probably making enough $ to live a good life without having to sacrifice much

 

She's back in Elite's NYC board tho, so maybe she did go back to the city and that explains why late 2015 was far better for her (CR Fashion Book, Vogue Mexico, Costume, all the fashion week events)

Day Three:  Still no sleep, starting to hallucinate and the caffeine no-doze cocktail I've been taking is no longer helping. I thought I saw my nemesis in the bathroom this morning, but it turned out to be a dead fly, probably eaten by that fucking spider.... I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. Sooo tired.
