I just feel like VS is nothing without the Brazilian Bombshells. As soon as that era was over VS was over to me. They gave VS the flavor it needs. 

I think Barbara is their best current angel. Shame she ended up getting a contract during a time like this.

It's great to see pictures and videos on this page again! thanks to all those who are posting content as well as those discussing it! 

 

Not excited for Helena or Daniela. Never liked them even when they were younger, and I don't think either aged well. 

I wish Lais, Stella, and Sara were gone. I miss Candice and Elsa.

I don't have high hopes for the campaign, but I'll keep an open mind.

Barbara's new pictures are lovely! I love when VS pictures have style, background, and props, as well as using my favorite Angel. 

I wish we had the VSFS to discuss, even if it was going really downhill in the last few years. 

 

They have so many random models. I don't know who more than half the VS IG models are and it's annoying (only because I'm a fan and I like to ID models) and I don't really like any of the ones they've been using. 

 

 

 

i just watched the etam fashion show and it made me think (again) about the vsfs. it's pretty clear that we won't have a show this year, but i think covid is an excuse even though i think fashion shows shouldn't be happening tbh. either way, i think they could have a show this year hiring less models and giving more outfits (3 or even 4 idk) to the angels and maybe no public? also, if the main problem is $$, which i think it is, they could have a show like etam's but not that cheap if you know what i mean lol

Speaking of angels, are Candice and Elsa very much still considered Angels? Or have they unofficially left the lineup? 

Elsa’s definitely out. She hasn’t done VS stuff in ages, and hasn’t been included in any new content or campaigns.

I’d say it’s likely Candice is also out but she’s had a very loose contract her last few years so it’s hard to say with certainty. 

 

Thanks for all the posts @Bettina Saw-Morgan! While I'm not a fan of Helena or Daniela, I think it's cool they're back. I wonder if they ever thought they'd be shooting for the company that made them famous again? I never cared for any of the early Angels, so I'm not suprised I don't like them, but I'm happy for them because they have to be having so much fun! 

 

I am glad we all have something to discuss again, if I don't care for some of the models being used and I have no hopes that the Christmas campaign will be any good, I'm still excited to see the pictures and videos and what you all think about it. Hopefully VS will surprise me with something good. As long as Barbara is in it, I'll be interested. I hope Grace shoots are well. What about Leomie? I think she's still with VS, but I feel like she never works for them? Maybe it's just me not paying enough attention lol

 

I know this is old and random, but I finally found some pictures of Kate Li when she shot with PINK from either 2016 or 2018. I wonder why they never used her? I know she tried out for the VSFS 2018 and got to attend callbacks, but they never used her again for shoots or for the show. I think she is drop dead gorgeous. Any one else have opinions on her for PINK? I'm curious to see what you guys think of her for PINK. 

 

@bump I’m not sure why Kate Li was never used after those Pink shoots.

 She’d be a welcome addition to the line up of models who are being used.

They likely own the rights to the image in perpetuity. Models very very rarely own the rights to any images taken of them. The rights are usually held by the photographer or the company.

 

There were actually two news stories about this recently, specifically about models and image rights.

I've talked with some photographers in-depth about who owns the rights to the picture, and was told it depends on if a contract was signed, and not owning rights to the picture does not stop the model from having say so over the image. A certain model who will not be named had free shots taken by the photographer, never signed any contracts saying she had rights to the images, and no money exchanged hands, and yet she was able to go to a lawyer and force the images to be removed from multiple sites, some of which made money off the pictures (like the photographer) No one wants to fight a legal battle over something that for the most part isn't worth the money.  

 

Photographer/and Magazine owned all rights to the images, and yet model was able to get everything removed.

Quite frequently contracts for images are not in perpetuity. They will contract the model for x time, or for x shoot, but the rights to use the images will likely be contracted for an extended period of time. Ie. Model1 was contracted for a year long contract, but they retain the rights to use the images for 10 years, even after they stop working with the model.

The whole image rights things is why VS can't re-use old pictures of certain girls anymore. There's a lot of factors to consider, a B-List model working with a bigger brand most likely won't ask for the rights to the images because she wants to keep the client happy.

 

I doubt Kate Li for example asked for the rights of her VS Pink images and can't do anything if Pink decided to not use her after all, the pictures will probably never see the light of day if the brand chooses not to release them but if VS decided use and abuse her image then there's nothing she could do either, on the contrary, I am sure as hell Candice, Adriana, Gisele, Heidi and those who have been top tier models ended up having more ownership over their content, IIRC in 2009 when Marisa left VS, the company had ro re-do the whole Love Rocks campaign because they couldn't use her image anymore and there were some years where VS couldn't even show anything Gisele related, it was around the time she launched her own lingerie line and I'm guessing she didn't want her name associated with VS at all.

@CandleVixen I"m glad you seem to like Kate as well! I wish they would've used her more because back then the pictures VS were putting out were still not quite as boring as the white wall phase they went through. She's actually one of the few models (along with Barbara P and Lily Easton) who I like their white wall pictures because in my opinion they bring life to the pictures). I'm glad I at least found those two pictures, I love the black and white outfit she's wearing, and I think her pose and facial expressions are perfect for PINK. I guess we'll never know why VS passed on her after shooting her twice...she went in 2016, and then there were a few pictures from 2018 on her IG that said she was back with them, and that year she tried out for the show and got to callbacks. Her IG/snapchat (I'm too old, I don't know which lol), said that VS said she was a success and they were happy with her, but she also strikes me as someone who is kinda cocky, so who knows if VS really said that or not. She's my favorite model now (can't believe she passed Barbara P, never though that would happen), so that's why I'm so curious and digging so hard about trying to find out more information. 

 

I'm glad VS is doing more with their pictures and campaigns. I'm glad to see backgrounds again. I am still in love with Barbara's vintage Victorian style lingerie shoot recently. I hope VS releases more from that. I hope Lorena Rae shoots for them some more. I also really like Yasmin Windjalum (I didn't spell that right, sorry) and Aiden Curtiss for the brand, I wonder where they went? Maybe they're still shooting and I just don't know?
