They spelled her name wrong again LOLOLOL on their site, Kate Grigorienva on the video, Kate Gregorieva MESSSSSS Technically the right spelling is Екатерина Сергеевна Григорьева anything else is an approximation in a different alphabet. Russian passports have names in latin letters too. So it's no approximation but only one correct way to write the name. Example from Google: Name is written both in Russian cyrillics and latin lettering.
May 1, 201510 yr I think some of you are honestly being too hard on Kate. Yes her English isn't the greatest but she certainly isn't the first or the last model to have had that problem. Adriana had that problem, so did Lais. Even Karolina had pretty rusty English when she first began working with VS. It can improve over time, and it's honestly not one of the easiest things to do because as someone that does speak another Slavic language I can tell you the two aren't similar and because of that numerous difficulties need to be overcome. Particularly when it comes to phonetics (In Slavic languages you pronounce every letter that is written, in English you don't). There's also the alphabet changes, accustoming to the vowel sounds, the order of the way things are said, the lack of pronouns (example with French: Ils/Elles = He/She plural, in English is just replaced with "They", that same problem arises). May 1, 201510 yr I'm a foreign languages student and all I can say is that sometimes people forget how difficult can be to learn a new language. Then, one thing is being able to write, read and understand it and another huuuuge one is to speak it. Just give the girl a break, she'll improve

We're just saying VS made a stupid/weird choice with her, but hey it's their money Exactly. My critique was more towards VS who are IMO doing a big disservice to a lot of these girls, Kate included. There are way too many of them and some of them are nowhere near ready for a position of spokesperson. It's not like there is some huge competition out there that will snatch these girls so VS have to hoard them. Nothing was stopping VS to continue to work with these girls and slowly test them out and promote when needed. At the very least, use them through PINK line. What's the point of having Angles who are not ready to promote the brand in the right way? This girl is an Angel but is completely useless to be a presenter at any press event. Scripted VS interviews don't count. Comparing to older times when Adriana stared also isn't fair. That was a completely different time in modeling. Nowadays, girls are under microscope because of social media. They are required to be ready to go a lot sooner than before. How is Kate going to stand out in this huge crowd of girls when objectively, due to huge number she won't have a lot of air time? That's my critique about this whole mess.
May 1, 201510 yr Author I get what you're saying schemer and for the last 5-6 years that's all VS has been doing. They've been testing the waters out with several girls and to be honest it didn't ever work besides the ones who actually made Angel. And even some of them fell short. And most of them were signed fairly quickly after only working with the company for a short time. There is so many girls they start to focus and push and then one thing or another led to them not being taken on. Barbara, Bregje, Toni, Gracie are examples. Girls who went nowhere with the company. I don't think VS made the decision lightly. And also for them these girls are probably cheap. All of Doutzen's contract most likely pays the bulk of their contracts. Maybe for a year. They'll test them out.
