It makes sense. My father did not talk politics in the house and I have no idea where he stood on issues (best guess was he was independent). My mother is kinda moderate and sides with either group when it appeases her self interest. Spoiler When I grew up I was fairly liberal ( sad face ), but as I got older, got married, bought a couple of homes and had to face real-life responsibilities I became Conservative but with a few left-leaning ideas. I have zero issues with gay marriage or adoption... My father in law is gay, so for me to ever try and take his right to be with his long-time boyfriend, or adopt a kid would kill me inside. I have zero issues with medical marijuana being used, it helped with my Grandmother's pain more than anything prescribed to her, I'm also in favor of abortions UP TILL a certain point. Once a heartbeat is established that's a wrap. Either get used to being a mom or give your child up for adoption if you can't or won't care for the child in the way that child deserves to be cared for. The environment is a tough one for me. I fully believe in allowing the forestry dept to log (helps cut back wildfires), and I do believe we should help the environment, but I don't necessarily believe in Al Gore's future of mayhem and terror. Earth's climate has ebbs and flows, it always has, and it always will. Are we being kind to the environment? Not really, am I willing to give up driving, flying, computers, Mac makeup, magazines, Nike shoes, the food at stores? Nope, and till people are willing to give up those things and go about a more Amish lifestyle nothing is going to change. I do not in any way shape or form think the world is going to come to an end because of what we're doing to it, so fuck it. Do your own part to help, but don't stop living. Though I will contest that GenX have the second best generation. I was talking about the GI Generation (My grandparents) being the best American generation ever. I'm not too high on the Baby Boomers, it was described to me that they were spoiled by their parents by giving them everything they didn't have growing up in the depression. I second that the GenXers are the second best generation. I don't know how my parents lasted together as long as they did. They came from different worlds, my mom is from Ohio and dad is from New York. Mom was non religious and dad was Catholic. If you saw my genetic makeup you'd be like da fuck and no wonder that guy is fucked. I think that the Baby Boomers are holding off the country from socialism taking over, but after they go it's over in my opinion. I'm not naive enough to think that this won't be the case.
