I'm new here. Sorry ahead of time if I do something wrong with posting this. I have read through some of the threads that some of you listen to metal. Well...anyways I am wondering who do you think are the hot guys/girls in metal music? I hear people ask me all the time who I have a "crush" on, but then they don't know who I'm talking about because some of the people in my music are very obscure So...I wish I had some one else I can discuss this with, and I want to know what you think, because I never know!

Different forms of art always influence each other in some way and there's quite a special relation between music and literature. Be it by musicalizing a specific work, such as a piece of poetry, or by taking inspiration by a novel or tale. Examples are many, both in Classical Music and in Popular Music. I'll start with one of my favorite bands taking inspiration from one of my favorite literary works: Led Zeppelin and J.R.R. Tolkien's works. There's many of these - Robert Plant is quite a Tolkien fan - so I'll start with these two: The Battle Of Evermore with some The Silmarillion and The Lord Of The Rings elements in it: …

Michael Jackson dead at age 50 (Source: Reuters) Pop giant Michael Jackson, who took to the stage as a child star and set the world dancing to exuberant rhythms for decades has died. CNN has confirmed with the LA coroner that Jackson is dead. "Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times," the LA Times newspaper reported on its website. There was no immediate comment from spokespersons for Jackson, who was known as the King of Pop, for hit albums that included Thriller and Billie Jean. The singer was rushed to the UCLA Medical Centre Friday morning (NZT).…

The all-female hard rock/heavy metal band Drain S.T.H. was formed in 1993 in Stockholm, Sweden (hence the S.T.H., added to avoid confusion with a similarly named American band), and featured singer Maria Sjöholm, guitarist Flavia Canel, bassist Anna Kjellberg, and drummer/vocalist Martina Axén. Displaying an unabashed worship of Alice in Chains, their independent 1996 debut, Horror Wrestling, was dominated by uncompromising grinds of slow, down-tuned guitars, which were then topped with Sjöholm and Axén's beautifully chilling vocal harmonies. Coupled with the band's impressive live performances and supermodel looks, this soon drew the attention of Mercury Records subsidia…

We have a thread for guitarists, bassists and singers... But we were lacking one for the rhythmic base! Those who keep the rhythm and the tempo, the backbone of any Rock, Pop, Funk, Soul, Blues, Jazz, etc band you can think of. We were missing on the drummers! Not anymore! It's time to give recognition to those who create magic with the rhythm behind the drum set (and sometimes other percussions)! So I invite to post your favorite drummers here! I'll start with one from my own country and without a doubt one of the best drummers EVER: Mr. Gabriel Parra from Los Jaivas Same so…

A study of more than 36,000 people from around the world concluded that musical tastes and personality type were closely related. The research, which was carried out by Professor Adrian North of Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh in the UK suggested classical music fans were shy, while heavy metal fans were gentle and at ease with themselves. Fans of Indie music had low self-esteem and were not hard working, fans of Rap music had high self-esteem and were outgoing. Country & Western fans were hardworking and outgoing, Reggae fans were creative but not hardworking, and fans of chart pop had high self-esteem, were not creative, but where hardworking and outgoing. Which…
