Anyone else here who likes listening Classical music? I began paying real attention to this music little more than a year and a half ago, though I enjoyed it before. So far my favorites have been from the Romantic period, such as Beethoven (though is Late Classic/Early Romantic too), Wagner and Mahler. So who are your favorite composers? Favorite pieces of music? Some music of course, and one of my favorites: Ludwig van Beethoven; 9th Symphony, 1st mov. It doesn't have any information about the orchestra or who's conducting...

I found this on the RateYourMusic forum. Investigating the 'death metal' murders These are the comments I left in the original thread they made there: Yes, secret messages about Bon Scott drinking too much. It seems to me that it has everything to do with a person's emotional maturity. If you like the extreme metal sound, more power to you, but when music starts to influence your philosophies, you're losing control. I'm really intrigued by people like Maynard James Keenan, but I don't follow him and his religious views blindly. I think some people just don't have discretion or caution. My biggest problem with articles like this is, they plant ideas in the head…

Wow so I finally got to see Delta Goodrem live! She almost made me cry!... well.. pretty much did. She came to LA and I got to see her Hollywood! I ever met her and I got a picture with her! She is so awesome. I cant believe how good her voice is... its actually natural talent, she played the piano and sang.. and even danced with some little kid in the crowd, I haven't seen a show like that in a long time! Her album comes out here in the US on June 24th and you can listen to her on her mypsace at myspace/deltagoodrem. Have a greattttttttt weekend!! Joy Ms UMGD

So at long last, we now have a designated area to highlight debatable or factually inaccurate song lyrics. For instance... "Sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon" - It most certainly does not, Vanessa. "There won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time" - Yes there will, they even have ski resorts. And so on and so forth.

Like the backstreet boys and the spice girls? Seriously it's awesome, really much better than music today no matter what anyone says. I'd rather have good overly produced, "sugar-coated" music than real crappy "down to earth" music. Like seriously who cares if it's a good song. I don't know how many times I've listen to "I want it that way" in the past few weeks, but definitely a lot.

Both Irish ladies have just released their solo albums. Dolores is a former singer for The Cranberries, and Andrea is the co-leader of The Corrs. Which album would you get first? I'm more curious about Dolores' album.

The all-female hard rock/heavy metal band Drain S.T.H. was formed in 1993 in Stockholm, Sweden (hence the S.T.H., added to avoid confusion with a similarly named American band), and featured singer Maria Sjöholm, guitarist Flavia Canel, bassist Anna Kjellberg, and drummer/vocalist Martina Axén. Displaying an unabashed worship of Alice in Chains, their independent 1996 debut, Horror Wrestling, was dominated by uncompromising grinds of slow, down-tuned guitars, which were then topped with Sjöholm and Axén's beautifully chilling vocal harmonies. Coupled with the band's impressive live performances and supermodel looks, this soon drew the attention of Mercury Records subsidia…

Not sure if it belongs here but I fucking love this style! Drum and bass (also written as "drum 'n' bass" and commonly abbreviated to D&B or DnB, also known as Jungle) is a type of electronic dance music which emerged in the mid 1990s. The genre is characterized by fast breakbeats (typically between 160–190 bpm, occasional variation is noted in older compositions), with heavy bass and sub-bass lines. Drum and bass began as an offshoot of the United Kingdom rave scene of the very early 1990s. Over the first decade of its existence, the incorporation of elements from various musical genres led to many permutations in its overall style. Some youtube clips: Feel …
