October 6, 20204 yr i think the VS show wasnt really a fashion show, but intended for a different purpose.
October 7, 20204 yr Thanks for the correction @Clauds, I thought I read it was Elsa. You're welcome @bumpI'm glad you're recovered and also opened up like Elsa did, it might help someone since we don't really know much on who reads threads like this. @Ed. Scandinavians are more transparent than others, they open up about everything without thinking twice about it. If it was a show like Fallon's they would have covered it until Amazon, Netflix or YouTube showed with a contract for a original series so they could spill it out but with more of a Disney version or their addictions.
October 7, 20204 yr Thank you for opening up on your personal struggles @bump. So glad that you're doing well with your recovery.

Yeah that’s what it seems like I’m glad she’s doing better!
October 7, 20204 yr Thanks for the encouragement @BAGGOT @hillstreet and @MissPadilla!! I love reading that Scandanavians are so transparent! My grandpa is full blood Norweigan and my grandma is full blood Croation (dad's side is Lebanese/Syrian/ some Irish,), so maybe some of those blunt and honest traits came down through generations to me! That's one of my favorite things about Elsa is that she isn't afraid to tell the truth. I wish more models would be as honest as she is. It would really help us as fans to get to know them better instead of having to answer cookie cutter questions like "whats your favorite food" or "what's the best thing about modeling". I'd rather here their opinions on the industry and their life and stuff like that.
October 7, 20204 yr @bump we're all rooting for you here glad you are getting help and staying clean, acknowledging that you have and addiction and getting help is the first step and not an easy one to take. Proud of you! Thanks for sharing your story. As for Elsa opening up so much, I agree it's a very Scandi thing, people here are way more open and honest and things like sex, mental health and addictions are definitely not as a taboo as they are in other parts of the world, I agree that this would have never been discussed so openly in US talk shows and that sucks, keeping these thing hidden don't help absolutely anyone, they just make addictions an even bigger stigma and a harder struggle. As far as Elsa not remembering what she ODed on, I'm not surprised, the odds are she was mixing a lot of things, she did say that time of her life is pretty blurry.

I cut back on using for a few years when I started substitute teaching/teaching a few years ago, but I got back into and even worse and had to quit my job this past january because I was using heroin before work. I felt so bad, it wasn't morally right of me to teach and do that so I quit and then full force back into my addiction worse than ever. I appreciate all the encouragement on here as this is the first time I've ever been truly sober. You guys are the best! That's awesome to hear that people in that part of the world talk so openly and imporant things like mental health and addiction aren't so taboo, they still kinda are in the state that I live in which is sad. And yes, keeping it hidden doesn't help anyone!!! I am so glad Elsa is talking about this more and more and that's she healthy and happy. I know it's helping me to hear her talk about it because the more people I hear talk about it that I never expected to hear it from makes me hopeful. No one expected me to become a drug addict and I never acted or looked like a stereotypical heroin addict, and neither does she (with whatever drugs she was using, idk if she did heroin or not). I am so happy about this interview because if it's helping me and I'm 31, it's going to help a lot of younger folks too I'm sure.

October 7, 20204 yr Just now, Schemer said: congrats @bump keep it up! wow, thank you! I love all the support and encourgement! I figured the few people I talk to on here in personal messages (like @BAGGOT and @hillstreet) would say something, because we're BZ friends, but I love that people I never really talk to like you and @Clauds and @MissPadilla are so caring as well! This is just the best website, I swear. Thanks so much buddy! I'm so glad Elsa has all the support, love, and encouragement that I do. If I didn't have my family, especially my parents, I would be back out using and probably dying from it sometime in the not so distant future, but all my loved ones don't deserve that. I'm so glad Elsa is clean for herself, that's the best way to stay clean. I hope she keeps talking about this because I'm so curious to hear more, especially like how she learned to stay clean for herself since I'm staying sober for everyone else. I already loved Elsa as a model and person, but this makes me really adore her.

October 8, 20204 yr Elsa’s recent interview that was posted. Thank you @MissPadilla for posting that, and all the work you did. I agree with @Clauds about Elsa is so over VS! Many blessings to she and Tom! I feel like Elsa being “transparent” about her addiction will help any one who follows her to go their own path to get healthy and sober. @bump I’ve said it before on another thread, I applaud you for getting sober yourself! Starting down the path of sobriety is never easy. Keeping sober is just as hard! I know you earned my respect at that time, and I still feel that way. My hat’s off to you!

October 8, 20204 yr 22 hours ago, Ed. said: Yeah seriously, god bless Thank you so much!!! I love that I don't even know you (I talk to a couple members on here in the private messages so I'm closer with them than others), so that means a lot that you took the time to send me good wishes!!! @CandleVixen thank you!!! The time you're talking about before when I was trying to get sober obviously didn't work, but now I'm getting professional help and going to meetings and have a sponsor. Also, my OD was so bad and my dad saw me purple and not breathing and I love him so much, that cant happen again. He is still messed up from seeing that image. I have always respected you so much too, so I'm grateful to hear those kind words about me! You're so awesome. @Shepherd thanks for those pictures! I love Elsa's outfit in that. I don't care for her hippie/boho looks (even though she fits that style), I adore this 90's grunge look and how simple it is. I would love to see her dress more like this, but I love how she can dress feminine and flowly and then something more hard like this. She also reminds me of the early 80's orginial hardcore punk population.
October 8, 20204 yr Interesting video. I don't know her much and I rarely even go to this thread, so I found it coincidentally. She has a nice voice and it's a nice language. Many models have drug addictions and I guess that starting modeling at a young age can make ppl more vulnerable to any type of addiction. It's good to see she's doing well, she looks like a nice person, and she's older now, so definitely stronger. @bump Hey, congrats. Glad to see you're doing good. I don't know these types of struggles, but I know our inner strength is often much bigger than we think.

I really apprecaite you taking the time to mention me and give me such a positive statement. I have definitely found that I'm stronger than I thought I was through this whole ordeal. After using for 13 years, I figured I'd never get clean, I would just have to deal with it, but I feel so much better without drugs even this early on in my recovery. And I agree, Elsa does seem like a nice person. I've always thought that, but now that I"ve seen these interviews and looked up other interviews, she definitely strikes me a sweet person with a big heart. I'm glad for all the success she's had in modeling and in life.
