- Former Disney Channel Star Lee Thompson Young Found Dead -

Lee Thompson Young, a former Disney Channel star who appeared on "Rizzoli & Isles," was found dead this morning at the age of 29.

Police confirmed that the versatile young actor died in an apparent suicide of a gunshot wound. TMZ reports that Young’s landlord found him when he did not report to the set of the TNT drama this morning.

When officers arrived to his apartment at the 5000 block of Tujunga Avenue, they pronounced him dead at the scene. There is no word on whether Young left a note, and the coroner is taking over the case.

"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning," said Young's long-time manager Jonathan Baruch in a statement.

"Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time."

Young began his acting career early, appearing in community theater as a child before heading toward the bright lights of New York City. There, he auditioned for and won the main role in Disney's "The Famous Jett Jackson." The show lasted for three seasons and a TV movie.

After the end of the series, Young appeared in Jamie Foxx's "Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story" and in the "Friday Night Lights" movie as Chris Comer. He also landed guest roles in TV shows including "The Guardian," "South Beach," and "Smallville."

In 2009, Young starred in the short-lived sci-fi drama "FlashForward" as an FBI agent who commits suicide to prevent a death.

His latest work was in TNT's "Rizzoli & Isles" as Det. Barry Frost, Rizzoli's (Angie Harmon) partner. The show halted production today as the cast and crew grieved over Young’s death and it’s unclear when filming will resume.

Young graduated with honors from the University of Southern California.

This one really irked me, guy seemed like on heck of an individual from hearing interviews and what he did for others. Just goes to show that life can be a tattered mess on the inside. People plz don't be scared to ask for help no matter the circumstances!

^ Seems that only good people who die, leaving us in just a bad world.R.I.P.

Having lived near a theater professional and have met quite a few from that scene, I can say for certain that real professional actors as a whole tend very emotionally sensitive and complicated bunch.  They are have intense emotional highs and lows and this IMHO is why they are talented at acting in the first place.

I've remarked to others that spending time with these men and women is like hanging out with a bunch of hyperactive ADHD adults.

Worse, it's extremely high stress as you have to come onto the stage with the exact emotional tenor and it's not always steady work for many.  So there's emotional management (or manipulation) involved.  That's why you hear of actors taking psychological drug cocktails and so forth.

^ You make a good point to the sides and realities of acting the majority of people do not see and witness first hand.

Wentworth Miller reveals that he's gay

He made the revelation in a letter declining an invitation to a film festival in Russia.

Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has declined an invitation to the St. Petersburg International Film Festival saying that as a gay man he disapproves of the Russian government's crackdown on homosexuals. Miller had been invited to appear as a guest of honor at the festival. "As a gay man, I must decline, he said.

The actor, 41, whose sexual orientation has been the subject of speculation in the past, came out in a letter he sent on Wednesday to festival organizers. Wentworth's letter, which is posted on GLAAD's website, thanks festival organizers for an invitation but states "I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government."

"Wentworth's bold show of support sends a powerful message to LGBT Russians, who are facing extreme violence and persecution: you are not alone," said a statement from GLAAD representative Wilson Cruz, who is also an actor (My So-Called Life).

Miller's announcement comes amid international condemnation of Russia's recent crackdown on homosexuals. Stringent new laws prescribe fines for people accused of spreading "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations" to minors. Gay pride rallies are banned, as is the adoption of Russian-born children by same-sex couples. And foreign visitors suspected of being gay can now be detained for up to 15 days, which has raised concerns worldwide as Russia prepares to host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Finally he came out of the closet,I always wondered why he's not dating girls, and always thought that maybe he's gay.All pretty guys are gays.

^ No, you are not the only one. Most people assumed he's gay but now they know for fact he is. And yes, I thought he's younger. Like in his early-mid 30's.

Good for him for coming out and standing up for what he believes in (Y)

To my understanding, many of the best actors in theater, television, and film are very sensitive, literate and cultured people and have some familiarity with method acting or were trained in it.  Actors like Christian Bale, Philip S. Hoffman, Al Pacino (back in the day), Meryll Streep, Kevin Spacey, and Daniel Day-Lewis are of this discipline.

I don't know who this person is or whether his performances were good, but it's an occupational hazard of real and serious  actors who do a lot of bottom up emotional experimentation and research before every audition, and every job they take.  They have intense emotional lives and insomnia is common.

eg. Heath Ledger was abusing prescription drugs while he was working on his role as 'the Joker'..

How strange, I distinctly remember seeing video footage of Wentworth running away with Mariah Carey, who at the time was about to get married to Wentworth's dad Eric Roberts. :pinch:

Miley Cyrus' VMA Performance: See Taylor Swift, Rihanna, One Direction and More Stars' Reactions

In case y'all didn't know it, Miley Cyrus is ALL GROWN UP.

The 20-year-old singer wanted to make that very clear during her Sunday, Aug. 25, performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. But while Ms. Cyrus' raunchy, sexed-up routine of twerking and pelvic thrusting was certainly unforgettable, it didn't appear to leave a positive impression on all of her fellow celebs. Case in point? Rihanna.

The "Diamonds" singer looked less than enthused as she watched Miley strip off her teddy bear onesie and grind up on Robin Thicke. She appeared to be taken aback, to say the least, and possibly even concerned about her fellow pop star.

The One Direction boys, sitting directly behind Rihanna, were stunned by the former Disney star dancing so provocatively in her flesh-colored latex lingerie as well. Liam Payne, struggling to contain a smirk, looked like he'd been caught in the midst of some mildly scandalous act. Zayn Malik, who got engaged to Perrie Edwards Aug. 18, nodded good-naturedly, but didn't seem too focused on the nearly-nude act in front of him. Louis Tomlinson had a stoic expression of, "Huh. This is really happening," while Niall Horan couldn't help but  boyishly grin at the spectacle before him. And Harry Styles—well, that boy wasn't shocked at all! Looking blasé, he kept chewing his gum and looked on at Miley's intense performance like it was NBD.

Drake seemed a bit bashful, gentlemanly looking away from the main stage as Miley continued to assert her womanhood for all to see. Later in the night, the rapper also performed—putting on a much, much tamer show than his twerking predecessor.

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were supportive of the "We Can't Stop" singer, dancing and singing aloud from their front row seats. At one point, the BFFs did appear to be in utter disbelief of Miley's scene-stealing antics, but they were in no way mean girls.

A  photo of Will Smith, Jaden Smith and Willow Smith—mouths open, staring upwards at the screen before then in utter shock—was erroneously reported to have been snapped during Miley's performance. MTV's audience cam, however, shows that the Smith fam was actually jaw-droppingly wowed by Lady Gaga's performance. The audience cam, sadly, didn't cut to Will, Willow and Jayden during Miley's set.

As for Twitter?  Miley's twerktastic performance didn't really get glowing reviews there. Rob Lowe retweeted a link to the performance, adding, " I cannot think of anything less interesting," while Bethenny Frankel mused, "@MileyCyrus 20 yrs old & getting bad direction. Granted she has to agree, but someone choreographed it & designed that bear."

Remember only God can judge ya, and forget the haters 'cause somebody loves ya! Don't worry, Miley, you're still our Queen of Twerk.

 :rofl: at all reactions, especially the Smiths.

They must know, they must know,Miley has grown up,but badly indeed.

Thanx for explanation, but also the reaction is to laugh at hard, even if it's not at Miley. But also with Lady Gaga, one shouldn't feel it weird I think,Gaga is the queen of the odds. :D

so Kendra is muslim then, (or will become muslim) correct? So I'm curious if anybody knew what that meant for her modeling career in terms of showing off her body, etc? She never did too many racy shoots before, but I notice alot of her work lately is just catologue and clothing!

so Kendra is muslim then, (or will become muslim) correct?

No,unless she chooses to convert to Islam by her own desire and choice-When non Muslim woman gets married to a Muslim guy,she can hold on to her original religion, she can keep Christian ot whatsoever till she dies,it's allowed in Islam to Muslim men to get married to Christian or Jewish women and they're  not allowed to force them to convert to Islam. The opposite isn't the case,if she's Muslim, she can't marry non Muslim.

Lots of Muslim women work in fields similar to the industry, and Kendra's husband might not be that traditional Muslim who won't let her work in modelling, but just maybe for a royal image, she'd be more conservative to avoid criticism from his royal family's side. And don't expect this marriage to last forever, many celebs had this case and married Muslim princes ,but soon they part ways, kind of business nothing more,IMO.
