Does anyone know why Karolina fell out of favor with VS or decided to quit? I don't know the story. She and Gisele were like the A team from 2002-2006 with Tyra and Heidi being the vets and Ale and Adri being the new girls. Was there no room to market her after her partner quit?

Though Angels have a reputation for being bombshells, Razek says he seeks models women aspire to rather than sex objects men salivate over. “All of these women would be the best looking girl any guy had ever seen–guys are easy,” Razek chuckles. “Women have to say, I want to look like that, I want to have that spirit or that confidence and strength.”

There isn’t an age limit for Angels. Adriana Lima is 34–senior by model standards–while current Victoria’s Secret model Taylor Hill is just 19. “Adriana Lima has consistently been supportive of younger models,” Razek says. “She doesn’t treat them as a threat or competition, she will answer any question for them.”

“There are rare athletes and rare models who have very long careers because they do the work, prepare and don’t take it for granted,” Razek says. He recounted a young model who was disappointed she didn’t make the show after appearing in it the previous year. When she asked why, Razek explained: “Every night I see a picture of you on Instagram from a club, night after night, and every night [while] you were doing that Adriana Lima was jumping rope for 3 hours.”

I get what he means but I think he stepped into the doodoo on a touchy subject tbh.

Ed likes to promote this image of VS Angels not being your stereotypical models (party girls), but fit girls that wouldn't touch anything unhealthy. The reality is really different though.

I know right? If that's the case most of their new angels are fucked and snapchat will be be the cause of their fall from grace quickly I've seen more SC's of Taylor, Jasmine, Romee  and Behati fubar in the last week it's not even funny. Goodbye new gals, hello puritan models in lingerie.

This guy Ed is really sleazy, douche of the highest order and he is lying. If going to club every night was the problem, Stella and Behati would be long gone from VS. 

Just saw some NYFW shows and Gigi's walk makes me cringe... if anything, I can see her sister booking the vsfs but not gigi.

Man, walk doesn't matter at all.

It's all about social media impact and shit like that.

 

You can't even see a girl walking in the show with too many fast cuts.

As long as she can make a silly face at the end of runway, she's golden.

^ Exactly. VS will make exceptions for not so stellar walks for girls who will get them a lot of press. Gigi will probably have over 7 million (if not 8) instagram followers by the time the show airs, that's more than any of their girls. They're going to edit the hell out of it anyway so you won't even be able to tell how bad it is.

If they want their girls names out there It would be such a dumb mistake to have either Gigi, Bella or Kendall walking. The press would be all over them, calling them angels. If VS wants attention that's a great move, especially having Bella walking and The Weekend performing in the same segment aka Adam and Anne V 2.0. However, If VS actually wants to push the new angels and make them known then that would be the dumbest move.

Nah. I feel like she decided to quit on her own. Her contract ended in early 2008 didn't it? And she still walked the 2008 show and she was even interviewed and given screen time from what I recall (though something happened with one of her outfits if I remember).

Nah. I feel like she decided to quit on her own. Her contract ended in early 2008 didn't it? And she still walked the 2008 show and she was even interviewed and given screen time from what I recall (though something happened with one of her outfits if I remember).

She was an angel until 2009 just like Selita. Izabel's contract ended in 2008 which is why she wasn't in the intro. Are you talking about Gisele? I always thought Gisele was 5'11 because she's taller than Adriana. I always figured Karolina was just 6'0. 

If they had all 3 of those girls (Hadid's and Kendall), it would completely detract from the show and they'd take away too much spotlight from the Angels, which VS really wants to focus on considering there's so many of them. Not to mention Kendall isn't exactly the easiest girl to work with ever, she arrived late to DvF, where they ended up delaying the show just so she can walk in it. Gigi was a pretty popular name last year but that doesn't automatically give her the free pass to walk in the show. 

 

Ed's comment comes off as relatively stupid if you look at some of the things the current Angels have done in the past. 

I don't think Ed was saying the girl partying was the reason she wasn't cast. He was saying that she put partying before the gym and therefore wasn't ready for the show. Barbara Palvin

I'd love to see Gigi in the show but I don't think VS will cast her (she dropped out of VS favour this year it seems), or Kendall for the reason everyone else is saying. They're going to take attention away from the Angels, and they really need to push the new group with this show.
