It made very little sense for Mando, Greef and especially Cara Dune to have never heard of the Jedi or the Force in S1 and the trailer makes it look like they're expanding on that premise, which honestly, has me a little worried about how this all might go down.

Everton's most impressive addition this season is undoubtedly Hummel, for beautiful kits there's no one better in the business. Meanwhile Jose already looks to have set the clock ticking at Spurs, during his post match interview you could almost hear the getaway car revving up in the background.

An all-too familiar story today, unable to find a winner despite late pressure. If that was any indication of how this season is going to go, it's unlikely to bring much in the way of entertainment, and given that our biggest goalscoring hope is the rather forlorn one that Will Grigg gets back to the player he was at Wigan and MK Dons, we'll certainly struggle to score. The goals against Villa U21s were mainly from set pieces and really just epitomised how old pros can bully young kids.

@dybala88 Two potential topics that may or may not fit the bill, if not please do feel free to start anew in either the Art and Literature section or Computers, Internet and Games. -
The reception has been rather mixed so far and while for me, a film that divides opinion is better than one that everyone agrees is average, the fan reaction to an apparent lack of critical consensus has in itself been quite interesting. It's something I've been seeing constantly in the realm of video games as of late where people seem to think that there's a definitive score for most things and that if a review doesn't roughly correspond to the Metacritic aggregate, then the reviewer is wrong.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for asking. I've a feeling that the thread might already exist but in another name. Bear with me and I'll see if it's possible to locate it. -
Robert Pattinson certainly thought so in The King last year.

It's hard to remember a time when things felt so desperately poor on the pitch and so shabby off it, and while few of our ongoing problems could reasonably be stacked at Parkinson's door, I've yet to be entirely convinced of his merits. His record so far doesn't exactly scream next level stuff and whenever we've been worked out by an opponent, we seem to just keep plugging away with the same personnel and same tactics. It's the definition of madness, but I can't see him ever changing. Of concern too will be the spectre of McGeady if we don't hit the ground running and, as is looking likely, the club leaves him to train with the kids. I myself would be tempted to give the lad one last crack, for all the talk that he's expensive, in the twilight of his career and a pain in the bum to manage, a handful of his flashbulb moments could be enough to see us promoted.

First official trailer is upon us.

I had my clipboard at the ready, was just waiting to draw a tick in the appropriate box.

I'm happy to watch Lea in anything and everything, although thinking back to the romance between her character and Daniel Craig's in Spectre, I don't really think the writers tried very hard to make it compelling. I'm a bit surprised to see her back for this new one. Having said that, I thought the plot device of the bad guy who, while still achieving something close to world domination, really just lives to torture the good guy, was mostly what tanked it.

It wouldn't surprise me if Pattinson's contract states that it has to be him wearing the suit most of the time, but for sure, I see no reason why they couldn't forge ahead with stunt work and whatnot while still scaling down the production.

It certainly looks the part. That Moebius-esque visual style just jumped right out at me in the best way possible. Story-wise, the preview seems to telegraph some of the themes and makes it look like it'll go in a fairly predictable direction. Then again, Scott didn't write it so perhaps it'll offer something a bit different. Basically, if it's free, I'll give it a watch.

It's a strange one because I would never have imagined saying it until recently, but this looks a bit like Mission Impossible only not quite as good. That being said, Fukunaga's strengths perhaps don't always lend themselves particularly well to trailers, and I can see hints of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's contributions to the script in the dialogue. So I guess overall, I'm still cautiously optimistic.

Take it with a sizeable grain of salt given the source, but some of the British tabloids are running with the story that production is still ongoing, with Pattinson's stunt double seemingly in heavy demand. But overall, yeah, it's almost as if a country yet to see a significant downturn in cases opening itself back up for the filming of major movie productions wasn't a good idea.

Deleting Accounts - PLEASE READ THE FIRST POST
Michael* replied to Courteney's topic in Site and Forum
It's not a bother if you no longer wish to be a part of our forum, but I'm afraid we don't do outright deletions of accounts. -
For sure, as marvellous as Panther was, I really felt like the best was yet to come for him. I was reminded of a response he once gave to Martin Scorsese's criticism of Marvel films, which I thought showed remarkable balance and eloquence, and was a wonderful counterpoint to the adversarial nature of that particular debate. Presumably a lot of actors would have given a trite answer or otherwise dodged the question, but his answer made for one of the most impressive interviews I've ever heard or read. In terms of comparable situations, I must confess, it was Heath Ledger that entered my mind. Both men had a certain poise and an understated power onscreen that is very rare, and seemed similarly destined to enjoy careers of great longevity.

Snyder's Watchmen reminded me of Baz Luhrmann's Great Gatsby, where despite the painstaking detail that went into the making of the film, the director entirely failed to grasp the point of the material. BVS of course had even fewer redeeming features, they shouldn't have let Snyder anywhere near another comic book flick afterwards. The buzz about Matt Reeves being attached to a Batman film seemed conspicuous by its absence, but he's a capable director and I hope he's given the chance to tell the story in his own way. Going forward, I think studios would do well to be less fussy about tone and just let talented people give us a vision.

What terrible news to wake up to, just absolutely heartbreaking. I guess, given how much his body of work speaks for itself, it feels a bit unseemly to remember him for just one role, but Boseman as T'Challa is every bit as timeless and iconic as Christopher Reeve was as Superman.
