I was wondering. do you think it's possible to be a great actress & a singer at the same time. And which female actress/singer do you think has the best acting AND singing talent? I started thinking about this after I found out that Jennifer Landon (daughter of Michael Landon of 'Highway to Heaven', 'Little House on the Prairie', & 'Bonanza' fame) who followed her dad's acting career and really did well in the daytime soap AWS (As the World Turns) went on to launch a singing career. I believe she only has 1 song out right now, called Slide, but it's really good. You can check it on iTunes if you like. Any thoughts?"

I was playing at my local music shop, and a guy asked me if I was playing Bucket Head... I just looked at him like he was stupid and said no...but that was becuase I had no clue who Bucket Head was... After a little research I realized that guy gave me one of the best compliments I have ever recieved. Gimme your thoughts on this freak with more talent in his little finger than van halen had in his whole body.

Biography from Rolling Stone Portishead formed in Bristol, England in 1991 and is credited with being one of the first bands to popularize the trip-hop genre. Their seminal 1994 album, Dummy, brought trip-hop to the British mainstream and introduced the music to the American "alternative" scene. The band is named after the town where founder Geoff Barrow grew up. At the dawn of the '90s, Barrow was making a name for himself as a remixer, working with such artists as Primal Scream, Paul Weller and Depeche Mode. In addition, Barrow had produced a track for Tricky and written songs for Neneh Cherry. Aided by a financial grant, Barrow formed Portishead with vocalist Beth Gibb…

http://www.myspace.com/geminipl The band was formed after the summer of 2009 by the master Felipe. The idea behind it was to gather a group of creative musicians from different bands that could constitute an ensemble playing music that is sophisticated, ambitious and yet accessible. Musically, gemiNi draws from many genres, mainly alternative and progressive rock, pop-rock and trip-hop. The songs were recorded at a recent rehearsal. Enjoy. And comment.

What were your favourite gigs you saw this year? 01. REGINA SPEKTOR Love Regina, and I was so bummed last year when she came to Australia without doing the west coast. She did the full lap of the country this time round, and she didn't disappoint. Just an exquisite performer and a lovely person all round 02. LAURA MARLING Same as Regina - this year was her first time in my part of the country, and I'd been waiting a long time to see her. By far my favourite gig I've seen at the shitty venue she played in Awesome support from Boy & Bear too! 03. MASSIVE ATTACK Epic. Wicked sound, and a stage/light show I'll remember for a long time. 04. WASHINGTON I totally …

I found this on the RateYourMusic forum. Investigating the 'death metal' murders These are the comments I left in the original thread they made there: Yes, secret messages about Bon Scott drinking too much. It seems to me that it has everything to do with a person's emotional maturity. If you like the extreme metal sound, more power to you, but when music starts to influence your philosophies, you're losing control. I'm really intrigued by people like Maynard James Keenan, but I don't follow him and his religious views blindly. I think some people just don't have discretion or caution. My biggest problem with articles like this is, they plant ideas in the head…

It's been a year since one of the guitar greats was taken from this world. I, for one, was heavily into Pantera. Dimebag was one hell of a guitarist and I got to see him shred back in '96! One of the loudest concerts I've ever been to. Anyways, most people will remember this date because of John Lennon (RIP) but I will remember this day because of Dime. He had more of an impact on my life than Mr. Lennon did. And people shouldn't forget the people that tried to save Dime's life, only to end up as victims of a psychopath's rage. RIP Dime!!

Not sure if it belongs here but I fucking love this style! Drum and bass (also written as "drum 'n' bass" and commonly abbreviated to D&B or DnB, also known as Jungle) is a type of electronic dance music which emerged in the mid 1990s. The genre is characterized by fast breakbeats (typically between 160–190 bpm, occasional variation is noted in older compositions), with heavy bass and sub-bass lines. Drum and bass began as an offshoot of the United Kingdom rave scene of the very early 1990s. Over the first decade of its existence, the incorporation of elements from various musical genres led to many permutations in its overall style. Some youtube clips: Feel …

Ana, or the rest of the mods, feel free to move the thread if it's in the wrong place. I need a small help. I have to do a homework about Human Rights. I am supposed to look for lyrics of several artist (most on them in my native language, spanish, which I've already found) that talk about Human Rights, songs against violence, racism, persecution and stuffs like that with Madonna and Eminem Songs. I've been looking for about 1 hours of Madonna's song, and Freedom is the one that's closer of being useful. But I'm not 100% percent sure. So I hope that any of you is able to help me. Thanks in advance.
