March 26, 201213 yr Candice Swanepoel Talks Brazil, Boobs, and Victoria’s Secret SwimsuitsNew York City teased us with warm weather last week, and even though the temperatures have dropped back down, it’s hard to get blue skies and the warm sun off our minds.Apparently, Victoria’s Secret is in a similar frame of mind: the brand held a preview today at the Gansevoort Hotel for its new Beach Sexy and Very Sexy swim collections, hosted by swim catalogue covergirl Candice Swanepoel. Over tropical drinks, a raffle (this reporter walked away with a personal training session with Leandro Carvalho, Brazilian Butt Lift Master. Swim Issue 2013, here we come?), and plenty of bikini browsing, FashionEtc caught up with the Angel to chat all things swim season.“It’s really important to custom make your own bikini,” Swanepoel said, saying that she prefers mixing and matching swim pieces. “You don’t want to go on the beach and see someone else in the same bikini! It’s embarrassing—it’s happened to me!”It’s somewhat refreshing to hear that the swimsuit stunner has ever had a less-than-glam beach appearance, but the model divulged that she hasn’t always been such a bombshell. “I remember as a little girl seeing my mom—she has amazing boobs, my mom. And I had nothing! I would just dream about having boobs. But that’s the great thing about Victoria’s Secret swimsuits—they put the bra into the swimsuit.”Swanepoel will be taking her various bikinis to various beaches this summer, but her favorite place in the world, she says, is Brazil. “I have a Brazilian boyfriend,” she said with a smile. “Since I was 17. We try and go like three times a year. I travel with ankle weights when I’m doing swim and the night before the shoot I do some lifts. Keeping in shape all year round is important to me, not just getitng into shape when the swim season is coming up. I box, do a lot of resistance, work with a trainer 3-4 times a week. Now that Spring is finally here it is easier to work out in the mornings, rather than in the winter when its cold and dark so you just don’t want to!How about your diet? I eat a lot of protein so I can build muscle but I dont really restrict myself from any certain foods. I grew up on a dairy farm so I drink a lot of milk and I’m a major carnivore.Tell us about your cover look.I really love the cover look. They’ve mixed a lot of animal prints so its really savage, and with a tan the look is just amazing. I like to wear my bikinis really tiny like in Brazil.Which are your favorite suits from this collection? There are so many different styles! I love the striped ones, the floral prints, the triangle shapes that fit everyone’s body, and I love the new Gorgeous collection that pushes you up a lot but still makes you still feel natural.
