June 27, 201014 yr USA is out This time they couldn't even score from the game I hope England wins today..
June 27, 201014 yr The Germans are dangerous but beatable, they looked superb against Australia, but barely beat Ghana and lost to Serbia. It'll be an incredibly tight game, but I think we're in with a chance of scraping past them. Then, just when the public opinion sways in England's favour and national pride reaches fever pitch, we'll be unceremoniously dumped out of the tournament by Argentina.
June 27, 201014 yr My guess is we're headed to a scoreless game. I believe England will take it 1:0, and maybe that goal will come in the extra time. Rooney may break the ice, and score the winner. I'm rooting for England today. BTW, i made a bracket with my future picks. I know I won't be 100%, but at least I gave it a shot. Your predictions?
June 27, 201014 yr I was dead wrong!!! o.O Best game of the tournament so far. England got robbed on Lampards goal. Can't wait for the second half.
June 27, 201014 yr WTF?????Where the fuck was the bloody assistant?! Motherfucker suddenly went blind. I want his head.AND balls.Fuck that shit. Fuck FIFA.I want video replays as a legitimate tool for checking controversial situations like that one.
June 27, 201014 yr Welcome back eNe, I knew you couldn't stay away while the World Cup was on! It should probably be 2-2 at this point, but we could just as easily have been 5-0 down. Too many passengers in the team. Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard have been totally ineffective, Terry and Upson have been an embarrassment and Barry couldn't pass a ball ten yards. Horrendous. Oh for a fit Owen Hargreaves.
June 27, 201014 yr ^Hargreaves is fit but hasn't played for a very long time.. And yes, it's a shame he isn't at the tournament What a mistake by the ref
June 27, 201014 yr ^I did or better.. I didn't expect USA to progress England SHOCK! The defence was way tooo slow!! Terry and especially A.Cole couldn't handle the Germans. And so was the midfield.. Lampard, Gerrard.. WTF?! And Rooney.. as much as I like him as a player, he didn't show anything. He must be very tired because of the PL (he was simply brilliant in this season) and as far as I know he's still injured, something with his knee. I just hope that England won't blame him. It's definitely not his fault! Maybe if the goal hadn't been disallowed, things would have been different. But it's nonsense to look for excuse.. And Capello is certainly on his way out! They were struggling through all the tournament. I'm so disappointed
June 27, 201014 yr Time to give this guy another outing... What an absolute shambles. I watched the Algeria game thinking we couldn't get any worse, but today has really opened my eyes. Capello's only tactic was to bomb the full-backs forward, leaving gaps at the back that you could have parked a aircraft carrier in. Lampard's disallowed goal was an irrelevance, and we'd have been ripped apart in the second half either way. The gulf in class was unbelievable and in the end, we were lucky it was only 4-1. Well done Germany. Stating the obvious, but the best team won.
June 27, 201014 yr The defence line was terrible, way too slow to stop the blitzkrieg. But England disappointed as a team - they were just a bunch of players, while the Germans are like one living organism. Everything clicks there. The defence without Rio Ferdinand is nothing. Midfielders didn't do much, either - except Frank Lampard (he was the best English player, no question!) and maybe Steven Gerrard. As for Rooney - huge disappointment. He didn't live up to the fans' expectations and looked kind of intimidated on the pitch. Poor Wayne, it surely wasn't his tournament.Congrats to the Germans, anyway. They certainly deserved a win. Now, it's Argentina against Mexico. Might be a great one.
June 27, 201014 yr I knew I was jinxing it. Now England is out, too.  Where the fuck was the bloody assistant?! Motherfucker suddenly went blind. I want his head. I want video replays as a legitimate tool for checking controversial situations like that one. I really doubt that he could have actually seen it (he wasn't on the line, because he was checking offside line), but it's about time people realize that when ball hits the bar, then the ground, it will get a reverse spin, thus if it hits the bar back, then the ball was in 99.99% of times. (Not sure how clear I was). And I definitely agree about the video replays. Sometimes ridiculous things can happen. I really felt for Fabio Quagliarella against Slovakia. He scored a hat-trick, but two of his legit goals were canceled, and as if it wasn't enough, he got punched in the face (and both referees saw it), and no penalization. Damn you Blatter. :persuazn:  Welcome back eNe, I knew you couldn't stay away while the World Cup was on! I sure wasn't going to miss this. How are you guys doing. I'll scan the sport threads a bit, and be back with some giantic posts shortly. Yeah, actually besides the last 10 minutes of the 1st half, and the first 10 of the 2nd, England players were ghosts of themselves. I'm really dissapointed in all of them. Hargreaves, along with some of my other favourite English players (Agbonlahor, Walcott, Ashley Young) were not even in the team. At least these guys would have tended to play team ball. Gerrard tried a bit, but wasn't his usual self, all Lampard did was shooting, and I have no idea what Rooney was trying to do. Barry proved he is way too overrated, and was guilty on both of Germany's goals in the 2nd (though Johnson should have fouled in the 3rd goal, before the cross to Müller). Terry-Upson-James trio failed miserably as well. I can go on, and on dissing the English team, but i guess it's already too late. I really feel sorry guys. As our commentator here said, the golden generation of England, remains to be golden only on paper. Even though they were not one of my favourite teams, I was hoping they'll make some more noise this time around.
June 27, 201014 yr Sadly again a huge mistake by the ref.. First argentinian goal was clearly offside. I'm really worried what will happen with football if it'll go on like that.
June 27, 201014 yr Nothing will happen. It'll stay just as it is - prone to refs' mistakes.FIFA won't even lift a finger to change anything. Screw those fuckers.
June 28, 201014 yr I don't understand all the complaints about the disallowed goal. I could understand it if the game had ended 2-1, but Germany scored twice more and had lots of chances before and after Lampard's goal was disallowed.
June 28, 201014 yr with a 2-2 score the germans couldn't do those easy counter-attacks anyway, this is even more absurd: the assistant saw the instant replay on the giant screen and realized he screwed up, but he didn't change his decision when the referee went to him, FIFA had already removed the images from the giant screen
June 28, 201014 yr Those easy counter attacks were caused by England's failure to set up properly for a free kick and throw-in respectively. The score-line had little effect on either.
June 28, 201014 yr There were 8 english players in Germany's area, this happens only when a team is losing
