Trends Posted October 27, 2013 Share Posted October 27, 2013 VS shouldn't have cut Erin off she's one of the best angel they have, if VS wanted to cut off an angel it should have been Lilly or LindsayThey're pretty boring, & Lilly's walk is painful to watch in the VSFS, or they could have cut Adriana or Alessandra too is time for them to go & move on from VS. Now that Erin is gone, who's going to be the new VS angel? I hope is Palvin or Bregje. About Miranda I knew her marriage wasn't going to last, I figure she was going to seperate from him once she got want she wanted which is Fame. Erin did do a lot of catalogue work but (IMO) she didn't standout enough in a positive or negative way to the general public. She will be missed by the diehard fans rather than the causal ones if that make sense. This current roster has a good portion of the models that are strong and competent in one area of the job but weak and flawed in another area. VS needs to really focus on a few girls and let them shine versus having too many girls and not giving each enough attention. Adriana, Alessandra, Doutzen, Candice, Behati, Lily, Lindsay, Karlie is a decent sized line-up. Elsa Hosk and Sara Sampaio as PINK angels is PERFECT. They could probably trim it a little bit by cutting out Lindsay and maybe Lily. I think 6 angels would be the ideal number. I wish Lindsay wasn't a full on angel and instead just had a relationship like Lais, Toni, Bregje does with VS. Not official but works a lot for the company. You can't cut out what helps the most, that would be bad for business. As long as they still look good, which they do, bring in sales, which they do, and bring in good/bad press and fans, which they also do they should be kept. It would be a terrible decision to let them go. Its one of those things if you don't have to do something, don't do it. Them being there longer than other current angels isn't a good reason at all to get rid of them, because thats always going to happen as long as new angels are created, there is always going to be others who were there before others regardless. Its not like they are like erin who are "difficult" to work with, or whatever the real reason why they let her go. You don't let someone who is good for the company go Does anyone know if lilly brings in good sales? Karlie, on the other hand, has generated a lot of controversy this year, and I can't see how any good thing can come from this. I mean, she had a commercial last year, for sleepwear, with chanel and lindsay, and I remember there were as many likes as dislikes on youtube for that commercial, which never happens with vs commercials. That commercial isn't on their youtube channel anymore, along with other videos...(don't know why they remov some videos after a while, seems strange to me)... Anyway, I don't know if they 'need' to cut someone off, but if it's anyone that doesn's fit in, it's Karlie. Kinda feel sorry for her though, it's not her fault. As for Elsa Hosk, she will become an angel, sooner or later. And does anyone know what's up with jessica hart? Is she still with them, haven't seen her in a while... However I do think the media did make it a bigger deal than it needed to be. 'Sometimes it makes me feel guilty now that I am in this profession that makes certain girls insecure,' the 28-year-old told the New York Post. She also insisted that the lingerie images don't always reflect real life, adding: 'I always say, I don’t look like the picture . . . If you put me in bad light with no hair and makeup, it’s not good. 'I wake up sometimes like, this is not what I see when I look at the magazine, who is this visitor in the bathroom?' she admitted. The model had been commenting on how happy she was that Governor Cuomo signed new legislation into law last week, which will see child labor protections extended to models under the age of 18 for the first time. In an industry that viciously resists change, the law was a major accomplishment for The Model Alliance, a non-profit organization which has been advocating for model rights since its launch in February 2012. The new law mandates that fashion brands and magazines hire a responsible chaperon for models under the age of 16, as well as a teacher and a dedicated space for instruction under its education requirement. Many designers and fashion magazines will most likely be discouraged from using extremely young models in their shows, campaigns and pages because of these requirements, which could see the face of modeling industry change from young adolescents to young women - which Miss Kroes hopes will have a positive effect on body ideals. James Scully, casting director for some of the world’s biggest designers, like Tom Ford and Carolina Herrera, explained: 'The passage of this bill will significantly curb the influx of underage models into the industry, which has unfortunately become the norm.' Most models begin their career around the age of 13, often sacrificing their education, health and financial security to pursue a career in a previously unregulated industry. 'Model rights have long been trivialized and dismissed,' said Senate Labor Committee Chairwoman Diane Savino at a press conference held at designer Nicole Miller's SoHo store last week. She certainly could afford to more than most of the arrogant people out there because there is not much anyone could say about her due to her success in modelling. I don't think I've ever come across someone saying that she is ugly and meaning it whereas most celebrities have people saying that about them. She is humble almost to a fault!
