Varamyr didn't make it to the show and I am thinking that this is an important character for understanding Bran. GRRM has said that Bran is the most difficult character for him to write. Cult Icon Posted December 14, 2022 Share Posted December 14, 2022 Finished 4 1/2 hrs out of 45 for Dance of Dragons. It's been a much better experience than Feast for Crows once the focus moves back to Dany's conquests and Stannis/Jon Snow. I feel like I'm reading Storm of Swords again. I think the main problem with Feast for Crows is the inertia of the plot. Cersei's content starts off good but gets overlong. Sam-Gily and all of Brienne's content are obnoxious and overlong. Asha is obnoxious and overlong. Neither the Dorne/Sand snakes or the Ironborn are that compelling. These character POVs are the weaker parts of the Song of Ice and Fire.
