Well done to Brugge as well btw, no worries if it's a penatly - a win is a win. :)

Club Brugge just won their second game of the season 1-0 on a penalty. We did play with ten men for most of the game, though.

Blondel got a red card. Again... <_<

 At least you won with 10 men

Sven's sitting pretty at the moment ehhhh. :D

He better enjoy it

Good news Ed!

Rooney fractures foot in opener

Good news for the other big three.

That's very good news  But they have Tevez now as well :ninja:

You know it's the beginning of the season when the league table looks a little something like this:

leaguetablexr5.jpg

Pompey were first for the first 5 weeks of last season :| but this season they play the top 4 in the next 5 games  "Low morale" will have a new definition by the time we reach gameweek 6

:woot: Liverpool won..

Yes we did :woot: we were 2/5 of the way to my predicted scoreline and only 1 goal shy of the clean sheet :ninja: Gerrard got 33% of a hat trick as well :woot:

and here is the ***Gerrard FK*** for anyone that missed it. OMG that is genius, he really should take more of our freekicks  He doesn't take as many since 2005 :( but he should. I still remember the fk against Sao Paulo, it was inch perfect but Rogerio Ceni somehow saved it :(

Anyway, now let's hope Chelsea, Manyoo and Arsenal all lose

YES! ed, certainly

It never happened  maybe next weekend...for now, Toulouse awaits :woot:

Between Laursen's own goal (nicely placed in the roof of the net!) and the free-kick that shouldn't have been, it was probably never going to be our day. We weren't especially good but then we didn't deserve that. Oh well, upwards and onwards...Newcastle away, next match. "High flying" Newcastle, that is. I'll try not to shit my pants just yet.

God damn Bundesliga season, I wish it had never bothered starting; a 3-1 home defeat to Duisburg is about as bad a way to start the season as I could imagine.

I can't believe we still can't put away our chances <_< but I think Taylor did really well between the sticks from what I saw

Hard to blame Laursen for the own goal, it was hard to defend really and he was under pressure from Torres and so close to goal - smack bang in the middle as well. It'd be hard to defend against that ball :/

Hope you guys bring down Newcastle :p

Galatasaray won 4-0 in their opening game!

And Lincoln scored the first goal...on his debut! What a cracker.

(stadium was empty for disciplinary reasons btw  ) >15secs is the 1st goal.

We're top of the table, as always should be.

Taylor had a good game, I felt bad for him because he had no chance with either goal. If you look at Gerrard's free-kick, you'll see how well Taylor does to even get within the same postal code as the shot. Ironically, he's struggling to be fit for the Newcastle game so it looks like Carson will be playing regardless.

Nice (Y) The fk was a cracker as well!

Definitely a good game, he made some tremendous saves! And Taylor's hand caught my eye when I first saw that freekick. He did amazingly well to get his hand covering the top corner but alas, it was a freak of a goal :(

Don't worry Carson is a good keeper, just needs some more experience but I think he'll do well at Villa

Thanks!

Mark Delaney, Villa right-back and one of football's nice guys has sadly had to retire at aged 31. He hadn't played for a year so it was to be expected but it is nevertheless a sad day, especially as he had given us some eight years service.

On a brighter note, Spurs are bottom of the table. Proof that while life can often be unfair, it can also provide wonderful surprises.

Zurich tied the game at the last minute against :cry2:

Still 1-1 as visitors ain't that bad!

I can't believe it. :( Things were looking sooo good as well...but like you said, the away goal could end up being vital for Besiktas.

Fener's 1-0 victory was good news too.

ed, congrats to Liverpool for the away goal too. ;)
