Marvel's Luke Cage
I need to finish the seventh episode later today. It still doesn't quite have that 'just one more, just one more, oh crap it's four in the morning' factor for me, although I suppose that's a pretty rare thing anyway. Overall though, no major complaints so far, I've actually grown to like Cage more than Murdock as the hero. Before The Defenders arrives, I'd love for Netflix to do a quick Claire spinoff. She's such a great character.

It's a strange one, because chopping and changing is never a good thing and we're all getting tired of the knee-jerk sackings, but at the same time, I've not seen much to suggest that Di Matteo was capable of turning Villa's fortunes around. I suppose normally, an owner would be looking to have a new manager in place by the end of the international break, but no-one will want to hire someone who could end up on the Telegraph's hitlist in a few weeks.

Marvel's Luke Cage
@Cult Icon @Maggiemay I'm three episodes in at the moment. It's been enjoyable so far, although the show has yet to grip me quite as much as Daredevil and Jessica Jones did. In terms of the villains, I always find that Marvel's Netflix stuff has the edge over the films. I legitimately can't wait for them to get their comeuppance in this, something I rarely feel when watching the MCU movies. As entertaining as characters like Loki or Ultron can be, they're quite often portrayed more as fun rogues than genuine bad guys.

Storming game. End-to-end, no bookings, raw passion on the pitch and in the stands. All in all, a pretty good advert for why the Champions League would be better off staying as is. The proposed new format for 2018 will push the so-called 'outsiders' further away and make qualification that much more difficult.

Bring back Sven, I say. He's already been implicated in every kind of scandal and embarassing controversy I can think of, so there’s nothing that any tabloid could reveal about him that would make people bat an eyelid. It'd all be old news.

A slot on the next series of 'I'm A Celebrity' surely now beckons for Big Sam. I suppose it's no real surprise to find him conforming to the dodgepot standards of the game, but I thought he would have had enough sense to realise that keeping one's nose clean and one's gob shut is a prerequisite for the England job. Presumably, the FA now do what they should have done after the Euros and go for a manager with actual experience of tournament football, because I doubt even Gareth Southgate wants Gareth Southgate.

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Obviously, the release date for this is still a long, long way away, but production is scheduled to start before the end of this year. Here's what we know so far: Principal photography to take place in Atlanta from November 2016 and June 2017. First feature film to be shot entirely in IMAX. The story will focus heavily on supporting characters. At least 67 distinct characters confirmed to appear. Every character across both movies will have appeared at least once in a previous entry in the MCU. Integrating characters from Marvel TV shows will be "complicated" (the Russos), but the "opportunity exists" (Feige). Teasers/trailers/One Shots planned that are "shot specifically for online that will never appear in the movie but that may appear as a kind of short film." Events will "span the entire Marvel universe."

Mr. Robot
Awesome. The first season really was like a breath of fresh air for me. I suppose how clever it all is will only be fully known in retrospect, for now I think it's great to see something a little bit different.

Mr. Robot
I managed to make it through the first season of Legends of Tomorrow, although I was on the brink of giving up for most of it. Suddenly though, I'm starting to feel like giving the show another chance.

Mr. Robot
@Stormbringer @PinkCouture It felt like there was a slight lull about a third of the way through S1, although it comes back storming over the final six episodes. Won't give anything away, but it was brilliant. Overall I think it's the sort of thing where, if you get out of sync with it, you probably have to push yourself a bit to keep watching. Once you've done that, the intrigue factor keeps you going.

Mr. Robot
It's become a real 'just one more, just one more, oh crap it's four in the morning' show for me. Probably more so than any other from the last couple of years, bar Daredevil.

Mr. Robot
@PinkCouture @bebop2015 @Syria @elfstone @toodarnhot, would I be right in thinking that you guys are also into the show? I've been watching the first season over the last week or so, and it's one of the most addictive TV programmes I've seen in a long time. Any other fans out there?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Yeah, I mean the Nolan trilogy wasn't exactly canon, but it was a singular vision from start to finish and he understood the characters. Unlike Snyder, storytelling is his strong suit, he was given license to tell them the way he wanted and had the freedom to make sure that the narrative worked within the world he'd created. I'd like to see DC take their time now and get themselves an in-house studio, where a producer can oversee each movie so that they don't totally contradict each other. It'd be a more effective way of opening the fans up to a wider universe.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
I vaguely remember Snyder stating (possibly before the release, certainly before the poor reviews started rolling in) that Justice League would probably be lighter in tone than BvS. The recent statement from studio head Geoff Johns more or less just reiterated that, only this time making it sound like Snyder was about to be thrown under the bus. Presumably what this points to is Justice League (much like Suicide Squad before it) either being edited to within an inch of its life by the studio, or being super heavy on Johns’ New 52 influence. Perhaps both. There's going to be so much pressure on Wonder Woman now to get in good with the critics. If it doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised if some of those other DC projects mysteriously disappeared from the calendar.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
The recently released Justice League teaser would seem to back that up too. I really am still pulling for DC to get it right, but the clip just felt jarring to me because it was such a huge about-face from all its previous references. It's a pity that we've had to arrive at a point where seeing the characters written as they are is a shock to the system for them to reconsider their direction.
