Logan (2017)
The early reviews have been positively glowing. This could very easily be the next Deadpool in terms of being a relatively small-scale comic book adaptation that makes tons of money just based on its own merits.

Karlie Kloss
Bemused that a shoot which, even taken in isolation, would have been a pretty poor showing from Vogue, could have found its way into the magazine's proclaimed 'diversity' issue. How no-one called that into question at any point during the editing process simply beggars belief. It shouldn't have to be the public’s job to keep calling out magazines and celebrities for doing this kind of thing, and it shouldn't have to take a massive backlash for editors to step up and make better decisions.

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Makes sense. Now that the Russos are further along in the process of looking at the story they want to tell, it's pretty understandable that changes are being made. And it might be for the best that they've done it, honestly. I was always a bit iffy on the notion of going into a movie knowing in advance that it would end in a sort of weird half resolution, and having to wait another year for the rest.

Legion
Hadn't really heard much about this one beforehand, but the debut episode was an unexpected delight. Very trippy, idiosyncratic, and a long way outside the norms of anything I’ve come to expect from a comic book adaptation. Visually stunning too, it even makes a lot of recent movies look fairly pedestrian by comparison. Anyone else watching or planning to watch?

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Interesting. Guess we'll be needing a slight edit of the thread title too, then. Any idea what the thinking behind the change was?

Smallville
For me, it promised a lot more than it ever really delivered. I think in retrospect, it was mainly Michael Rosenbaum's performances as Luthor that elevated an otherwise fairly mediocre show.

Congratulations @Kells. on the anniversary! Hard to believe that it's only been a year, I already think of you as a forum mainstay.

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Peter Dinklage is thought to be in negotiations for a key role in the movie. If he is indeed in Infinity War, it might make him the first actor to appear in both the X-Men films and the MCU. Unless I'm missing someone really obvious.

Trumpland U.S.A
After he basically threatened to silence them, Trump was never going to be given an easy ride by the mass media. Obviously, what he said doesn't necessarily mean that he's on some kind of mission to unpick the first amendment, but taken in isolation it’s a bit worrying. Not because I love CNN or the BBC, but because the President should always be answerable to the press, including the more hostile sections of it.

Marvel's Iron Fist
Netflix continues to bust out teasers for the show. This latest one offers a more in-depth look at Colleen Wing.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Man, now I want Judi Dench in a Star Wars movie. Not to mention every other movie. Lovely to see Daisy Ridley back on Instagram though, even if it is via someone else's account. Daisy's was one of the most optimistic and positive IG feeds I've ever seen, celebrity or otherwise. The fact that she was driven away by trolls is just another example of why we can’t have nice things.

Marvel's Iron Fist
I do love that they've made Claire a fixture of Marvel's Netflix stuff. If Rosario Dawson is on my TV screen, I'll never complain. A bit of a surprise to see the relative lack of action sequences in this latest clip. Since the other shows have had multiple trailers, I've a feeling that we might get a pure action one later on. Truthfully, the version of Danny Rand in the books was never the most interestingly written guy, so unless they're holding back a few deconstructive twists, the show will probably stand or fall based on its fight scenes.

Marvel's Iron Fist
At long last, Netflix has released the first full-length trailer.

Westworld
Yeah, a lot of the mysteries have been solved, others are still kind of lingering, although probably not to the point where the next season could write itself. It seems like there are only two places the show could really go if it keeps concentrating on Westworld (feuding and in-fighting between different factions trying to take control of what's left of the park, or all the hosts escaping into the real world), but I don't know if shifting focus to, say, Samurai World instead would appeal to me that much either. Just seems like a bit of a flawed proposition somehow.

Westworld
As fascinating as I found the universe they created and the issues raised within it, there were long stretches where some of the plotlines and characters were either allowed to drift a bit too much, or just weren't that interesting. The payoff that unfolded across the last few episodes made it well worth watching overall, though. Too many shows leave you hanging at the end of each season, and when the payoff finally does arrive, it's quite often hugely disappointing and comes a few seasons too late. This is perhaps the only recent series I can think of where the first season wraps up with a satisfying and well thought-out finale.
