Although I find Neill Blomkamp a bit overrated, this latest trailer really makes me wish we were watching his take on the franchise instead. It pains me to say it, but it's starring to feel like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel. Whatever people thought of Prometheus, it at least promised something a bit different when Noomi Rapace went in search of the Engineers with Michael Fassbender’s head in a bag. This just looks like more of the same.

I'm thinking a movie about the Oscars screw-up eventually gets made, itself winning Best Picture in about ten years' time.

I'm sure I don't know what you mean. In all seriousness though, I thought they handled the situation with real class and showed a lot of dignity in handing back the award without making a fuss.

I don't feel as strongly about it as some seem to, but I do think that if they were going to double check one of the envelopes, they should probably have made it that one.

The mix-up was pretty brutal, but at least the producers of La La Land didn't make a big song and dance about it.

Fantastic actor. I probably most identify him with True Lies and Apollo 13, but honestly, he was great in everything.

I enjoyed the Christmas special, but the previews of the next series and the new companion have yet to really set my pulse racing. I will still watch though, because I always do. Speculation for the next Doctor is always way more entertaining than the next James Bond, but since the series reboot pretty much all the choices have been good with me.

It's amazing how no-one 'in the know' has pointed out that Pearson survived 2014/15 in its entirety with a Leicester side sitting dead last in the Premier League for virtually a whole season, while Ranieri was only given until February despite not being in the relegation zone at any point.

Did you catch the second episode? It feels like the distinctive visuals have started to settle down a bit. You can easily see it unfolding into something very exciting, and of course, it doesn’t hurt that Dan Stevens is absolutely terrific in the lead role. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season now.

Which I fully expect to happen in the second leg against Monaco. The lad Mbappe looks as if he could become a real star, though. If he's not sold for a packet within the next year or so, I'll be shocked.

Zola and Birmingham looks as much of a mismatch as Gus Poyet and Sunderland were back in the day. A flair manager who wants to play attractive football, doesn't have the squad to make it work, tries to spend his way out of trouble and somehow still manages to look five players short of having a decent side. Chances are, his managerial reputation won't survive another significant setback.
