Problems and Suggestions for BZ - Post Here
@ghostops117 @CrazyGEN This is still a bit of a work in progress at the moment. Going forward, we should be able to swap the current preview pics (which are being randomly assigned) out for more carefully selected ones.

Legion
You always have to take the rough with the smooth when you watch Arrow, but this latest season has been a real refresh from the direction of the previous one (which wasn't good at all save for Neal McDonough's performances as Damien Darkh). I would go so far as to say a couple of the episodes have been genuinely excellent.

Marvel's Iron Fist
Also, I have to say in episode six...

Marvel's Cloak and Dagger
I'm a longstanding fan of Cloak and Dagger, ever since you could summon them in the old Spider-Man and Venom game for the SNES. The property is likely a bit too 80s to do a completely faithful adaptation, but the core elements lend themselves really well to what they'll be trying to do here. The two leads are high school-age kids from different sides of the tracks who live on their own and fight injustice, which suits the 'young adult' market down to the ground.

Marvel's Iron Fist
Mine too. For me, Jessica just has the edge over the first season of Daredevil, although they were very different of course and probably equally good in their own ways.
-
Marvel's Iron Fist
The first two episodes are quite drearily paced, but it starts to find focus afterwards and gains some real momentum by episode four. Again, not the best of the Marvel Netflix shows, I'd probably put it roughly on a par or perhaps slightly below Luke Cage.

Marvel's Iron Fist
I need to finish the sixth episode later on. On the one hand, I do agree that this might be the weakest of Marvel's four Netflix shows. The action scenes are less visceral and emotive than the ones in Daredevil and Luke Cage and the characters are less well-developed than Jessica Jones, so I probably wouldn't put it up there with those three. On the other hand, judged on its own merits as a straight-up superhero story, the quality is sufficiently high enough for me to have really enjoyed watching so far, and have my expectations raised still further for Defenders.

Football
While the only really grim performance we've turned in since the Palace victory was in the following game against Southampton, where conceding two quick goals led to us capitulating horribly in the second half, we've looked devoid of pace and attacking thrust for long stretches. On paper, Moyes' decision in January to cash in on Van Aanholt and replace him with Oviedo was the right one because the latter is by far the better all-round player, but it also removed our only secondary goal threat. Now, with half chances falling instead to crapkickers like Rodwell and Jones, it's hard to see how we're going to score if Defoe isn't firing.

The Political Correctness Haters' Club
Of course, the irony is that somewhere along the line, in the midst of all the hand-wringing about whether political correctness has gone mad, anti-political correctness has gone even madder. Which is interesting, because identifying as something other than American is a trait widely associated with American people. So one could argue that if someone describes themselves as African-American, Latin-American, or 37.5% Irish, a quarter German, a quarter Scottish, a sixteenth Dutch and a sixteenth French, that person is actually living up to an American stereotype way more than someone who just identifies as American.

Football
Unable to beat Burnley at home despite creating a host of chances in the second half. If there's one thing I've learned from our previous scrapes, it's that making predictions is a mug's game, but at the same time, there are only so many ways to keep your head above water. It's starting to look like we might have finally exhausted them all.

Marvel's Iron Fist
By the way, Colleen is awesome. I'd be all for her getting a bigger role in Defenders.

Marvel's Iron Fist
Three episodes in now. I can't help thinking that if this had arrived before Daredevil and Jessica Jones, the reception would have been rapturous. With it instead having to follow those two shows, as well as something like Legion which has raised the bar for comic book adaptations higher still, there's really no getting away from the fact that it doesn't offer anything genuinely original. For the most part though, it's perfectly serviceable superhero stuff and an enjoyable extension of Marvel's Netflix universe. I'll be sticking with it.

Any celeb that everyone says is hot but who you think is unattractive
Something along the lines of 'celebrities whose looks you find overrated' might be nearer the mark. The current title is pretty effective in illustrating the point of the thread, but it's certainly not what you'd call catchy.

Football
Dortmund and Monaco could easily be the tie of the round. Atletico is pretty much Leicester's worst case scenario, a well organised team who are not only rock-solid at the back but also have the class to retain possession, not really suited for Leicester's 'underdog' football.

Logan (2017)
For me, the original X-Men film still stands up today, although there are a few missteps here and there. But the first Wolverine movie, man, that's a rough introduction to the franchise. So now, having seen Logan, do you think you'll watch the rest of the series?

@ILUVAdrianaLima @Stormbringer I like the idea of the preview pics too, although I must say, I'm a bit troubled by the current one for Gemma Arterton.- Things That Could Make BZ Even Better
Maybe I've been on staff too long, but all I can think about is the potential for an option like that to be abused. Maintaining continuity is such an important thing for a forum and a certain element of misbehaviour is unavoidable online.- Football
On the one hand, it's no real surprise to see Karanka given his marching orders. The apparent bust-ups with players, the club hovering around the bottom three and unable to score goals. On the other hand, it feels like strange timing from Gibson to decide that all those things are a problem now if they weren't before. The club showed remarkable patience with Karanka after he initially failed to deliver promotion, and he has a history of falling out with players in spectacular fashion, including last season when he allegedly stormed off the training ground and Steve Agnew had to take over for a week. The problem for Guardiola at the moment is that City's defensive options simply don't measure up to the ones he had at both Barca and Bayern. Eventually, he'll have to make tactical changes because his current squad is unable to make a decent fist of his favoured approach, and there probably aren't any realistic summer transfer targets that could solve things.- Logan (2017)

If nothing else, Derby seem to have done the right thing in moving so quickly to secure Rowett. The way things have been going since he was 'upgraded' by Birmingham, if he'd still been unemployed when the inevitable chop came for Zola, I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd asked him back.- Legion
I always tend to assume the show's UK pace is behind that of the US, but I'm never sure how far. Forgive me if I'm talking about things that are ancient history now for you guys.- Marvel's Iron Fist
