A ‘Where Are They Now?’ special centered around the second pages of Girls and Guys of BZ is what I'm thinking. Can anyone get me the name of a cheap private investigator?

Saw this band at the aforementioned Anna Calvi gig and was pretty impressed. The kind of minimal sound that fans of The xx may currently be pining for.

As above, but for 'St. Vincent' read 'Beck'.

More St. Vincent. Continues to build on my already high hopes for the album.

Sounds bloody marvellous. If I start swimming now, will I make it in time for next year? Speaking of recent gigs, I finally realised the dream I'd been harbouring since 2011 and saw Anna Calvi live. One of my top five shows of all time, easily. She's so refreshingly free of gimmickry and her sound is absolutely timeless.

Avoided defeat at the Etihad last night!

Manquillo can count himself lucky to have escaped serious injury there. The result will probably turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Simeone though, they were fighting on more fronts than the size of their squad could support.
  8. Nice to meet you, Shannon!
  9. In some ways, you have to tip your hat to them. Just when the widespread disbelief over their most recent casting choice dies down a little, they come back with something even more mind-boggling and further off-base, and make the previous ones look vaguely sensible by comparison. Michael Rosenbaum proved in 'Smallville' that a younger Luthor can be made to work, but in this one it sounds like we'll be getting either a hard-nosed, politicised Eisenberg (who I actually really like in roles where he can do himself justice) or a geeky, passive aggressive dot com billionaire Lex. Both of which sound to me like a recipe for disaster. To be fair, Jeremy Irons as Alfred is pretty atrocious as well.

In Moyes we (the rest of the Premier League) trust.

What is it with us playing at home these days? Our opponents seem happy enough just to sit back and wait for the terrible backward or square passes we seem to gift them at least once per game. I don't know what was worse, the horrendous attempt at a simple ball by Bardsley, or the idiotic challenge by Brown immediately afterwards. I'd rather be 1-0 down with a full compliment of players on the park than 0-0 and a man light after 3 minutes, but that's just me.

  13. Suddenly, Scarlet Witch's involvement is starting to make more sense. Very sound casting choice, though. Makes sense for Bettany to play Vision, particularly if Ultron is indeed going to be based on Jarvis's operating system. Not to mention the fact that he's a perfect fit for the physical design of the character. Only drawback is that he'll probably have to actually watch the movies now...

  15. Captain America: The Winter Soldier releases April 4, 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1, 2014, The Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015, Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, and unannounced films for May 6 2016, July 8 2016 and May 5 2017. Obviously, judge with a slight grain of salt at this point. The rumours of a 'Stark meets the Guardians' post-credits scene in 'Iron Man 3' didn't pan out, this may not either...
  16. I can see that. Sort of a midway point between pre and post-Vader Hayden Christensen.

All of them have been a part of the comics at one point or another but some are rather obscure, there were a couple I had to look up. For quick reference... L-R - Prototype Sentinel, Havok, young Toad, young Stryker, Bolivar Trask, Mystique, Beast, Quicksilver, young Magneto, young Xavier, Wolverine, Bryan Singer, Wolverine II, old Xavier, old Magneto, Storm, Rogue (who’s not now going to be in the movie ), Warpath, Kitty Pride, Sunspot, Blink, Iceman, Bishop, Colossus and future Sentinel.

New one from ex-Cardigan Nina Persson's solo album. Still one the best voices around.
