The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Hayley Atwell now confirmed, not only for 'Ultron' but for 'Ant-Man' too. Peggy all over the MCU in 2015.

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Way to ruin what could have been a really lovely little surprise cameo, Idris. :persuazn: Anyway, my money is on Wanda showing Thor a vision of Loki on the throne instead of Odin, most likely as one of the credits scenes. Presumably, since it's a lot closer in terms of release date, 'Ant-Man' takes the other slot.

Here's the 'micro-teaser' released by Marvel last night. Dreadful tagline aside, it's pretty exciting.

Gotham
To be fair, Jim and Barbara do appear to be living in an art gallery. I'd probably be loathe to leave too. As much enjoyment as people seem to be getting from the Cobblepot and Nygma story arcs (which I personally think are very hit and miss), my favourite character up to now is Harvey, with Fish Mooney a close second. I'm far from being the biggest Jada Pinkett-Smith fan you'll ever meet, but she plays it so over the top that she's hard to dislike. I could easily see Mooney being accepted into the comic book mythos in the near future, a la Harley Quinn.

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Can't wait to see the big finale. You have to hand it to Marvel. By the time the second installment of 'Infinity War' hits, it'll have been eight years since they first introduced the Tesseract and started their long journey in bringing the Infinity Gems together. That level of planning and commitment to a continuing story arc is pretty astounding, and can only really be applauded. You get the sense that Feige, in addition to being a successful (and allegedly rather ruthless) Hollywood mogul, also genuinely loves the Marvel mythos. He's probably the main reason why the MCU has worked so well up to now. For what it's worth (which probably isn't much, as they've just blown my Chiwetel Ejiofor bias out of the water with the casting of Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa), my personal preference has always been for Yvonne Strahovski to play Carol. I wouldn't rule out Margot Robbie as a contender, though. I've always pictured the character being in her late twenties/early thirties and Marvel will favour someone at the bottom end of that age range, in case there's scope for a sequel (or six). Margot will be 28 by the time the release date rolls around.

True Detective
Read the announcement as Taylor Swift. Now I'm oddly disappointed. Kitsch has been in some notoriously poor action movies, but that doesn't make him a bad actor. Some of the lesser parts he's played have been really quite good. As long as they put him in a role where he can do himself justice, I've no worries.

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Thinking about it now, I would have expected Black Panther to be higher on Marvel's to-do list than Strange. Can't go wrong with the Cumberbatch though, hot commercial property and a bloody excellent actor. The spin-off potential will be practically limitless too - I await 'Doctor Strange vs. Iron Man: Battle of the Sherlocks' and 'Doctor Strange vs. Loki: Tumblr Explodes' with bated breath.

Football
After his latest clanger (although there was of course another 'Sunderland moment' during the game, courtesy of Wes Brown), I was thinking more along the lines of a refund on Vito from Arsene Wenger and Arsenal. Presumably Pantilimon now starts against Crystal Palace. Not that I'm really holding out much hope for that one, we've had about eight managers since the last time we won on a Monday night.

Football
Terribly lacklustre stuff from Barca in the Clasico. Since Pique seems to be the scapegoat of choice these days, I'm fully expecting him to 'do a Fabregas' and hotfoot it back to England in the near future. The midfield also looked worryingly sluggish, with Messi strangely subdued.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The way they portrayed Creel was really impressive. Where season one might have gotten bogged down in stop-start origin stories, this guy arrived fully-formed, which is the perfect way to go for a character who already has an established comic book counterpart. As long as he looks and acts right, we don't need to know much more than that. I have to say though, I wasn't expecting the thing with Fitz...

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
I'm cautiously optimistic that they'll be able to go darker without making it excessively bleak. Whedon of course has a history of steering his projects in some pretty grim directions, but he has Kevin Feige looking over his shoulder for this one, with an eye on appealing to a younger audience and keeping a billion-dollar franchise intact. On a side note, I finally figured out who Quicksilver reminds me of - Ryan Gosling in 'The Place Beyond the Pines'.

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
Looks excellent. Who knows, if they'd had all the time they were hoping for to put it together, it may have looked even better. Although I did like how the Marvel Twitter feed blamed the leak on Hydra. That Pinocchio music was so fabulously creepy, Disney's acquisition of Marvel has justified itself already.

Gotham
I thought Selina was a lot more engaging this week, there's a touch of Jennifer Lawrence about the actress playing her. Had trouble wrapping my head around the idea that she would have clawed someone's eyes out at this stage, though. Feels a bit early in proceedings to have that level of violence in the character. The show's biggest drag is without doubt the relationship between Gordon and Barbara. So far, she's the quintessential blank canvas comic book girlfriend. Hopefully that changes later on.

Gotham
Gotham is an American crime television series developed by Bruno Heller, based on characters appearing in and published by DC Comics in their Batman franchise, primarily those of Detective James Gordon and Bruce Wayne. The series stars Ben McKenzie as the young Gordon. Heller is the executive producer along with Danny Cannon, who also directed the pilot. Gotham received a series order from Fox on May 5, 2014, and premiered on September 22, 2014. As originally conceived, the series would have served as a straightforward story of Gordon's early days on the Gotham City police force. The idea evolved not only to include the Bruce Wayne character, but will also tell the origin stories of several Batman villains, including Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Joker, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Hugo Strange, Harvey Dent, Mr. Freeze and Victor Zsasz. The first season order consisted of 16 episodes, which was later extended to a total of 22. Synopsis A new recruit in Captain Sarah Essen's Gotham City Police Department, Detective James Gordon is paired with Harvey Bullock to solve one of Gotham's highest-profile cases: the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. During his investigation, Gordon meets the Waynes' son Bruce, now in the care of his butler Alfred Pennyworth, which further compels Gordon to catch the mysterious killer. Along the way, Gordon must confront mobstress Fish Mooney, mafia led by Carmine Falcone, as well as many of Gotham's future villains such as Selina Kyle, Edward Nygma, and Oswald Cobblepot. Eventually, Gordon is forced to form an unlikely friendship with Wayne, one that will help shape the boy's future in his destiny of becoming a crusader.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Yeah, I heard about that. Not sure if I'm on board with Wonder Woman being portrayed as DC's answer to Thor, but I suppose it further defines her as a force to be reckoned with, albeit with the pacifist roots of the character almost certainly falling by the wayside. Her godlike powers could be depicted really well on film, which should add a dash of spectacular fantasy to what promises to be a dark and gritty movie.

Everybody! Don't blame it on Seb Larsson Don't blame it on Van Aanholt Don't blame it on Mannone Blame it on Vergini He just can't, he just can't, he just can't control his feet (etc.) Thankfully not, although I was watching online. Whether it's really worth trying to make sense of such a shellacking, or to reach a logical conclusion as to why we capitulated so horrendously, I'm not sure, suffice to say that it was absolutely appalling. Nothing short of total commitment will be acceptable to the fans on Saturday - we’ll find out during the game if Poyet and the players have learned from the defeat and are able to repair some of the damage, or if we have yet another long, hard season ahead of us. Fingers crossed that it's the former. On the bright side, anything less than 8-0 will represent progress.
