  1. As many of you will no doubt be aware, this was originally devised by Theron, who did it here in 2012 (although Pretty did most of the work that year, I believe), here in 2011 and here in 2010. Unfortunately, we never got a 2013 installment off the ground, but since it's right around the time of year that this kind of malarkey usually goes down, I've decided to try and revive it for 2014. It'll be my first time hosting a contest so please guys, be gentle with me.
  2. Believe it or not, someone's already registered that username on the forum. Please let me know if there's another username you would like.

Wow. That's one way to focus attention away from the annual James McClean poppy furore. A fiver says the folks currently trotting out terms like 'bleeding heart brigade' and 'liberal PC rubbish' are all straight white males who have never experienced genuine discrimination in their lives. Just a hunch, I could be wrong.
  4. It seems Marvel has yet to confirm who Brühl will be playing, but Baron Zemo springs to mind as an obvious possibility. Aside from the Red Skull, Zemo has long been Captain America's greatest enemy. It would be almost unthinkable for him not to show up in the MCU at some point, and Daniel has more than enough talent to bring the part to life.
  5. This is actually one of my favourite movies of the last few years. I saw the beginning/end as being symbolic of a life going round in circles, after Llewyn spends a week dealing with but eventually compounding his failures, you’re left with the sad realisation that Carey Mulligan’s assessment of him (which feels needlessly mean-spirited at the time) is in fact spot on. I like to think of it as a coming-of-age movie where the hero faces the fact that his childhood dreams aren't going to happen, but it's an overall chronicle of failure too.
  6. Let's face it, being born to famous parents is responsible for more opportunities in Hollywood (and elsewhere in the celebrity world) than any of us are even remotely aware of, but respect is earned no matter what field you're in. If you were found not to be up to the task after being gifted that initial chance, you wouldn't last long.
  7. Thanks Jeanmarc. Yaya's career seems to have wound down somewhat as of late, but she’s still such a good model and way too special to be so underrated. She’ll always be one of my favourites.
  8. It's pretty obvious now, but I only noticed the building with the Samsung logo slapped on it on my second viewing of the trailer. To be honest, I didn't even realise that was a Samsung tablet.

And of course, special congratulations to Lionel Messi, who got to play in the same Argentine side as the great Santiago Vergini last night. No doubt he's pinching himself!
  10. More casting news for 'Captain America 3'. Perhaps Niki Lauda will get his revenge on James Hunt after all.
  11. Erin Heatherton [1] Nadine Leopold [1]

Loser of tonight's game has to keep Phil Bardsley.
  13. Tend to agree that the show has taken a turn for the formulaic and is somewhat past its prime, but it's still watchable and capable of delivering the odd cracker. After ten seasons, that's a pretty difficult thing to pull off. I must say, although I hadn't really envisaged Jennifer being a particularly good fit for the show, I think the main problem is the dullness of her character. Kate isn’t so much a person as a mix-up of random backstories, all of which are such well-trodden ground in the genre that she comes off as uninteresting. The constant chopping and changing of female cast members doesn’t help.
  14. Lovely updates, thanks to all for posting. Stumbled upon this nice little write-up about Karlie just now. 'Tis worth checking out. http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/fashion/features/karlie-kloss-too-good-to-be-true-9855823.html
  15. Here's the first full-length scene from the show, in 'sneak peek' form.
  16. The stories they’re telling these days feel so much stronger and far more confident, I'd go so far as to say that the show has turned into one of the highlights of my TV calendar. Clark Gregg is getting the chance to show a few different layers too, which is great. His increasingly unhinged version of Phil is such a nice change of pace for the character. Although I get the feeling that this whole 'carving glyphs into the wall' thing could start to wear a bit thin after a while. Hopefully they don't try to drag it out too much.
  17. Oh Channel 4, you used to treat your US shows so well. Last year, for reasons best known to themselves, they put Agents of SHIELD on hiatus for months while the Winter Soldier connection was almost completely lost, and now it would seem they've no interest in picking up Agent Carter for the UK. Almost makes me wish Sky had gotten hold of the Marvel stuff show instead, they would have bought into the continuity the same way they have with Arrow and Flash.
  18. He still can't pronounce 'penguin' though.

    What a treat. Thanks Shepherd!

Should be interesting to see what's classed as a win here for Moyesey. You'd think European qualification or perhaps a bit of silverware would be the endgame (clearly, Sociedad lack the resources to compete at the very top), but since he couldn't manage either of those things at United, it seems like something of a stretch to expect it of him now. Still, I think we're all looking forward to the inevitable interview where he speaks English with a bad Spanish accent.
  21. Great thrill to see Gemma back on the cover of Vogue. If they'd only stop paying their Photoshop department by the hour. :persuazn:
  22. Trailer #2 just dropped. A few more cool shots, a bit more creepy Ultron dialogue. http://youtu.be/fk24PuBUUkQ
  23. No more Bregje? Shanina Shaik [8] Josephine Skriver [9]

We can get a robotic spacecraft to touch down on the surface of a comet moving at 30000mph, but we still can't get Jozy Altidore to kick a leather sphere into his opposition's net. Conspiracy?
