I think the main issue is that she only had it done after she was already famous? If this was the only version of Charlotte we had ever seen, it wouldn't be much of a problem.

Well there is the fact that perhaps it's now near impossible for any model to have the same crossover mainstream appeal of the supermodels of the 1980s. I meant it more, would she rise to the top of the industry today?

Possibly but my main concern for this marriage at the time wasn't his looks or background but the fact that they supposedly only knew each other for like five minutes when they tied the knot. That usually isn't a very good basis for a very long marriage.
I didn't even give it three months at the time! Good for them, I suppose.
