  1. A Year Ago...

    Started by ImmortallyInsane,

It's been a year since one of the guitar greats was taken from this world. I, for one, was heavily into Pantera. Dimebag was one hell of a guitarist and I got to see him shred back in '96! One of the loudest concerts I've ever been to. Anyways, most people will remember this date because of John Lennon (RIP) but I will remember this day because of Dime. He had more of an impact on my life than Mr. Lennon did. And people shouldn't forget the people that tried to save Dime's life, only to end up as victims of a psychopath's rage. RIP Dime!!

I found this on the RateYourMusic forum. Investigating the 'death metal' murders These are the comments I left in the original thread they made there: Yes, secret messages about Bon Scott drinking too much. It seems to me that it has everything to do with a person's emotional maturity. If you like the extreme metal sound, more power to you, but when music starts to influence your philosophies, you're losing control. I'm really intrigued by people like Maynard James Keenan, but I don't follow him and his religious views blindly. I think some people just don't have discretion or caution. My biggest problem with articles like this is, they plant ideas in the head…

Do you use Soulseek? I think it's a very nice p2p program. It doesn't mess up your computer, unlike many other programs of the same type. Soulseek official website For anyone interested, my Soulseek nickname is: Kubolski

What bands/artists have you been listening to recently? You can tell us here about your latest musical discoveries and recommend them at the same time. I've been currently hooked on a post-metal band called ISIS.

  7. Started by Qball,

Have anyone here heard this band? I think they're awesome. They play slow, hypnotizing metal with prog elements. Very melancholic at times... I recommend them to you.

Okay, my friend and I have been looking for these guys for like forever! In case you don't know they're a comedy grindcore band. If you don't know what grind is, then leave Chances are you'll hate it Anyway, anyone using soulseek or similar P2P networks who has their stuff? I know he'd love to get their second album (not sure what it is). So, anyone out there who can help me?

Not sure if anyone here would appreciate something like this but I figured I could post it anyway. I'm just getting started on working with this guy who is a custom bass and musical instrument maker on getting his website up. He has some old picture which aren't all that great but they show the amazing work that this guy does. Just check it out.... 1. 8 different kinds of woods. waves raised up for thumb rests. 2. various basses being used around the world 3. 5 string fretless with 5 indiviual handwound pickups under handcrafted pickup cover 4. "the monster" 5 string fretless bass banjo. sounds freakin' COOL! 5. Bamanjolin - Combo between banjo and mandolin. Oc…

Hello. Well in the UK there's a sortof Indie thing going on. Babyshambles, Arctic Monkeys etc....[i can't be arsed making a list right now] Infact, the Arctic Monkeys are just becoming fucking huge? Do you hear about them in the US at all? Apart from that I'm listening to Test Icicles [new UK band], Death from above 1979 and Louis XIV. More that I can't think of right now. What about you? What bands are big in the US that may not have been heard of over here? DISCUSS

Has anyone checked out LaToya London's CD? It's been out for a couple months, but my friend just had me listen to it. She got a free copy from her work at universal. I really think LaToya has a great voice. The R&B ballads were the best of the CD, songs like Waiting For You and Every Part Me are my favorites. I think with more development she could take the path of a Whitney or Toni Braxton. She's pretty too. I've checking out her pics on her webpage and she has a lot of style, with really nice skin, and cute petite body.

Has anyone heard the new song from Joe Nichols called Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off. I had to laugh when I heard it. It's doing very well on the country circuit. Even if you don't listen to country you can still think the song is fun. It's catchy and Joe is soooo adorable. I think he is an underated artist and should really extend his fan base. He's really good! I hope my sis at universal can get me a copy of upcoming release III. I will have fun playing that Tequila song all day long!! I just love it!!

So, yeah...any fans of trance music? I know it gives a lot of people headaches, but I like it for some reason. Ferry Corsten and Armin van Buuren are both amazing. Also, I've recently heard some of DJ Tiesto's stuff too...not bad at all..

So, this is what you do: shuffle your songs on your mp3 player of choice, then post the first 5 songs that come up (no cheating!). There's no prize, but it could be interesting anyway. I'll go first -- 1. Usher feat. Alicia Keys - My Boo 2. Joseph Williams & Sally Dworsky - Can You Feel the Love Tonight (yes, from The Lion King soundtrack) 3. Lenny Kravitz - If I Could Fall in Love 4. Pussycat Dolls feat. Busta Rhymes - Don't Cha 5. Pras Michel feat. ODB & Mya - Ghetto Superstar

GOLDFRAPP Biography taken from England's singer/composer/keyboardist Allison Goldfrapp began exploring music as a part of her studies as a Fine Art Painting major at Middlesex University, mixing sound, visuals, and performances in her installation pieces. While she was still in college, she appeared on her friend Tricky's 1995 debut Maxinquaye, which led to appearances on albums from other cutting-edge electronic artists, including Orbital's Snivilisation and Add N to X's Avant Hard.
