http://www.audioscrobbler.com/ Audioscrobbler Overview Audioscrobbler is a computer system that builds up a detailed profile of your musical taste. After installing an Audioscrobbler Plugin, your computer sends the name of every song you play to the Audioscrobbler Server. With this information, the Audioscrobbler server builds you a 'Musical Profile'. Statistics from your Musical Profile are shown on your Audioscrobbler User Page, available for everyone to view. There are lots of people using Audioscrobbler, but you probably won't be interested in most of them. This is a conversation continuing from another thread... I love Canon. My Dad bought me a EOS 650 when I was 8... we found it at a garage sale for $7!!! Took many many pictures with that... we used to keep a garbage bin in the car because we would drive around and eat in the car all the time and I kept the camera there just in case... then it accidentally got thrown out Easy come easy go I guess. I totally hear you on the gadget geekiness though... now I'm into audio equipment. Behold... the beast I get to play with every other Sunday One Digidesign Venue Live Audio Mixing Console... one the first ones in Canada... A live show sound guy's wet dream. Ha…

  5. Started by one man band,

This thread works by someone asking if anyone knows a band/singer that sounds like a particular favourite of theirs. For example, If someone asked for a band that sounded like Coldplay, someone else could say Snow Patrol, or Keane or whatever. So, to start off, i'd like to plunder the collective wealth of musical knowledge of Bellazonians and ask; Does anyone know of a band that sound like The Chemical Brothers. My knowledge of dance music is poor, so help me out here guys.

I found this on the RateYourMusic forum. Investigating the 'death metal' murders These are the comments I left in the original thread they made there: Yes, secret messages about Bon Scott drinking too much. It seems to me that it has everything to do with a person's emotional maturity. If you like the extreme metal sound, more power to you, but when music starts to influence your philosophies, you're losing control. I'm really intrigued by people like Maynard James Keenan, but I don't follow him and his religious views blindly. I think some people just don't have discretion or caution. My biggest problem with articles like this is, they plant ideas in the head…

Hello. Well in the UK there's a sortof Indie thing going on. Babyshambles, Arctic Monkeys etc....[i can't be arsed making a list right now] Infact, the Arctic Monkeys are just becoming fucking huge? Do you hear about them in the US at all? Apart from that I'm listening to Test Icicles [new UK band], Death from above 1979 and Louis XIV. More that I can't think of right now. What about you? What bands are big in the US that may not have been heard of over here? DISCUSS

Old school hip hop describes the earliest commercially recorded hip hop music (approximately from 1979–1984), and the music in the period preceding it from which it was directly descended (see Roots of hip hop). Old school hip hop is said to end around 1983 or 1984 with the emergence of Run–D.M.C., the first new school hip hop group. However, some old school rap stations cover 1980s hip hop in general, occasionally extending even into the mid 1990s. The image, styles and sounds of the old school were exemplified by figures like Afrika Bambaataa, The Sugarhill Gang, Spoonie Gee, Treacherous Three, Funky Four Plus One, Kurtis Blow, Fab Five Freddy, Busy Bee Starski, Lovebug…

I don't know about you guys but I was raised with Montovani and the Boston Philharmonic blasting at full volume around the house. I can probably sing through every part of Berlioz's "Symphony Fantastiq"... Anyway, we need representation from people who actually have skill that's been perfected over years and years of playing... and still are open to new ideas. NHK Symphony Orchestra playing Berlioz - Symphony Fantastiq, 5th Movement If you couldn't tell this in combination with the other 4 movements was about what some dude goes through while high on opium... this was written in 1830. I recently started listening to Megadeth fairly heavily. Now, quite a long time ago I had gotten the album Youthanasia from the local library, and I really liked it. After that I always found some reason to keep putting off buying an album. Finally, this Christmas I used one of my gift cards to buy Rust In Peace. I was deeply impressed. I was expecting an album with a few good tracks, and a lot of filler. But it's really solid all the way through; sure, some tracks aren't as good as "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" or "Hangar 18," but songs like "Poison Was The Cure" and "Lucretia," that aren't nearly as well known, are brilliant. Literally my only complaint with the alb…
