The US bipartisan system is terrible. It's always been bad, but now it's morphing into a "good vs. bad" system. "Us vs. them". That's how people become violent and manichean. Look at countries like France, Germany or Italy: multipartisan system. It's not perfect, but it's less sectarian. Less violent. The newspapers are higher quality. Journalists investigate and aren't afraid of hurting "their side". Do what you want, but don't be surprised when it becomes an all out civil war in the end.
