November 16, 20204 yr Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post for $250 million. Some analysts think its value should've been around $60 million. IMHO, the Washington Post's real value should not be expressed in dollars, but in this currency that was very popular in 2020... and I'm not talking about a cryptocurrency, but this one: Spoiler And the total is about right. The Washington post's value is 3 rolls of TP............................................ Not more.

Of course, the mobs on Twitter (aka the pro-censorship platform) are attacking him, but if these twitter mobsters went beyond their primal instincts, they'd see that he has a very good point. You don't consider right wingers/alt righters like yourself part of an aggressive "mob"? You post very aggressively/angrily on BZ whenever the subject of politics is raised. Both sides are now aggressive mobs, at least verbally.

November 18, 20204 yr I remember diagrams of political science in the early 2000s that put the Democrats and Republicans close together on the center right. Then the various European parties were plotted- LOL most of them to the left. The position of the Democrats and Republicans as being close was just about right I believe. It is in stark contrast to today where they fanatically take opposite sides of issues just to spite each other. And now at the time of COVID this behavior has been costing countless lives. The Obama years pushed the left farther to the left and the right farther to the right. What was considered right wing conspiracy theories made by rural hovel dwellers in 1990s is now mainstream right and radical identity politics and northern European style social redistribution became mainstream left. This insanity is merely a symptom of serious economic and social problems and the "American Dream" not really working out the way people want it to work out. All that's left is either for a large comet to come down to kill us all or the Chinese invade with a 30 million man army after they helped de-industrialize the US, spread COVID and get rich off of our stupid country...

It's interesting to see how things change (and sometimes go back) over time. You should study the origins of the "Southern Strategy". (eg. Nixon and the republicans afterwards). After being on the losing end for decades they shifted their focus to metaphysics like "Family values", "Christian values", and managed to convince poor people that they didn't need state-funded healthcare and tax cuts for the "rich" were a good thing for the United States economy (Supply side economics). All of this was of course fraudulent. After the cold war the Clinton administration helped further de-industrialize the United States and encourage globalization/global trade. The Democratic president also did his share to damage the job market. And the funny thing is after all this the average Republican is poorer than the average Democrat. In my extensive travels throughout the Northeast, the houses that defaced themselves with Trump flags were typically lower-middle income or low income housing, and typically with a pick-up truck implying blue collar types. A lot of them were in rural areas, such as rural Pennsylvania. All the Trump stores I saw, which distributed this materials, were located in rural areas. This is where a lot of the right wing conspiracy theories and rhetorical talking points that you enjoy are receptive - country people, people from small town white America.

I took your test and it says I'm at the center. I don't understand why labelling people would help anyone's point. Ideas are interesting, labels are not. I always try to be hard on the problem, soft on the people. That's not what you're doing here and I don't understand why you suddenly attack people like this.

Could you state one example of a "conspiracy theory" that I supposedly "enjoy"? You can't casually say things like that, without proofs. I like proofs and facts. Your statement is odd and unfounded. BTW, the concept of "white america" is something that we will never understand in France. We treat everybody equally (or at least we try), regardless of their skin color. Citizens are color blind, because that's what unites us. I know it's not the same in America, but I think it explains many of your divisions. In France, our project is to be one united people and everybody is welcome as long as they share the same values.

February 11, 20214 yr I can't believe how mindless Disney execs are. Firing a woman because she's strong and independant: really Disney? Really? You're sexist Disney #WeLoveGinaCarano #FireKathleenKennedyInstead US entertainment in 2021 is getting worse. Luckily, we have Japanese, French, or Polish entertainment, but the volume is much smaller.
February 11, 20214 yr Pedro Pascal has written stuff that are way worse than Gina, but he's OK... no problem. Disney is trash. Spoiler
February 11, 20214 yr Gina Carano got fired because she didn't bend the knee, when the twitter mob forced her to add pronouns in her bio. That's Twitter: And Disney is the feudal lord that sacrificed a young maiden to appease the psychos. Wonderful world

You tube’s home page has Gina’s name up in the top searched videos, and there are a lot, all backing the mouse’s hypocrisy and kowtowing to the hate mob. The picture that the Critical Drinker posted of Gina in costume is beautiful.
