April 10Apr 10 full gear layout for the best equipped Ukrainian soldier. A lot of this equipment is NATO.Soldiers carry 8-16 spare mags.Overall this appears to be ideal however the majority of Ukrainian infantry carry AK-type weapons and without even optics/thermal.
April 11Apr 11 Taiwanese military- they use US M1 abrams and M60 tanks, HIMARS., F-35, PatriotThey seem to use older model SAWs and ARs. These are promotional photos, just the elite units- the problem with these weapons is that the Ukraine war has shown their cost-ineffectiveness and weaknesses against PGMS/drones.
April 17Apr 17 US troops are switching to 6.8 mm SAW and carbine- leading to a 50% weight increase in ammunition- fewer rounds, but better penetrating power.the funny thing is that this doesn't seem to be necessary in the era of drone warfare and the weight increase in the ammunition is pretty severe. Seems like pentagon corruption if there isn't a real tactical need.Also, the new expensive weapons are just lighter and modernized versions of the heavier M-14/ M-60 platform from the early Vietnam years.
