May 1, 20178 yr Beyond that, I would hope that the POTUS can give a semi-decent answer to the question "Why did the Civil War happen?". I mean, it's literally one of the questions on the U.S. citizenship test.

If he's from the South I could kinda understand b/c they are somewhat...sensitive when talking about talking about the War. Still no excuse---even most school-aged children knows why!!! The only semi-logical reason I could think of why he thought it was Jackson was maybe he confused him with Jefferson Davis---All these "J" names are confusing I am sure according to Bannon and Gorka, Davis was the real POTUS

I thought he had a portrait of him in the Oval Office and everything.

May 2, 20178 yr These tax cuts might eventually bite Trump in the ass. I wouldnt be surprised if in 2020 a more authentic white nationlist rose up to challenge Trump for presidency. Possibly Steve Bannon
May 2, 20178 yr kafka vibes Australian detained in United States for 'overstaying visa by 90 minutes' Quote The family of Baxter Reid said the 26-year-old was being held at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in upstate New York after being detained by US immigration officials. According to Mr Reid's family, Baxter had been in the US on a five-year visa, which required him to leave the country every six months. He was reportedly trying to travel to Canada to fulfil this requirement when he was detained. Mr Reid's brother, Alexander, said Canadian officials did not want to let Baxter through because his visa was close to expiring. "Because they had kept him, his visa had expired by 90 minutes," he said.
May 2, 20178 yr Author Kind of hard on Trump and his gafs? He's like the average voter- entirely educated by the TV, internet/newspaper articles, read zero books.
May 2, 20178 yr That was pretty much the reason he "won" the election. His fans could relate to him on that level. Although I do sometime question is he really that "dumb" or it is a character he is playing as a manipulation tactic. Either way, right now we are stuck with him so might as well try to make the best out if it.

Possibly Steve Bannon I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a second term If he plays his cards right in regards to repeling & replacing the ACA, the wall (or whatever they are calling it these days), jobs and reproductive rights so it appeals and appeased his fans, he has a chance.

If this happens people here can no longer act as if they care about what direction their country goes in. Although I'm not sure how that 2nd term will go considering he is alienating the vast majority of moderate republicans

Although I'm not sure how that 2nd term will go considering he is alienating the vast majority of moderate republicans That's the thing, many of his voters DO think he would veer our country in a better direction. Some of them don't think the changes he proposed would have a negative impact on them. In fact some viewed it as a benefit. It is the mentality, "as long as I am ok and things could potentially be better for me, who cares if it is not for others. Not my problem." Also many of his voters did it solely out of hatred such as they dislike Hillary, Obama, Liberals, Democrats, etc. Then there are his devoted fans who would support him regardless; those who voted for him just b/c they can; those with resentment towards the government (or anti-government) so it was their way of saying "Fuck you!" Not to mention most Republicans having been voting against their financial prosperity and overall well-being for quite awhile now. He didn't get a lot of support from his party when he ran recently so I don't think having a lack of support from other Republicans would matter if he does decide to run for a second term. Like I said, if he plays his cards right this term by fulfilling a few of his promises, he could win a second term.
