From the preview Gigi's body was on point but it looked like she didnt want to be there... 

Not that it matters but Mia def has had a boob job. Just the way they sit very high up and are perfectly round, especially in a swimsuit is an indicator. You can tell a lot more in the videos. At least they don't look like a botch job like Samantha

 

I watched the videos and looked through the pictures. Dani is still top choice. I thought Megan was lovely in her videos. Didn't know she was British. Also Mia was lovely in her video.

 

Kyra is wtf in everything. That face though. What's with the exact facial expression. She has a Chrissy type personality which is worrisome .

I tried to find comments of people who were real, as in a decent amount of post of their own with a normal follower/following ratio. The general thing that I'm getting from the covers are that young girls love Ashley's cover while men are making fat jokes and calling her disgusting. Ronda's comments are either about her being a loser, ugly, or awesome. It's kind of the same as Ashley's but less cruel in my opinion. Hailey is getting a lot of praise saying that her cover is the real one and that she's the best cover model. I'll probably do an update later today after mode comments flood in.

This guy was going nuts in the comments. And he's a photographer with 28.6k followers, so his comments were especially intriguing

Poor Ashley was backstage saying that she can't wait for her life to change. It's really sweet but so unrealistic. Hailey will be overshadowed for the 3 weeks that the cove rgirl matters and then she will get all the jobs and may even be able to make a high fashion comeback.

Ashley will still get a lot from this. It's a fairly big deal. I don't think getting the cover is definitely this big boost in career. I mean Hannah D really hasn't done anything since getting her cover. Girls like Kate, Irina, Brooklyn, Bar etc whether being with a famous guy or not they still have the name that people know. I think if you said Hannah Davis to anyone it would be a big what? Even though I love her. Hailey or Ashley might get major career boosts or get nothing. Time will tell.

 

But I do think Hailey's will be the bigger seller.

Lot's of catching up to do. I knew Ronda would get the cover. Obviously Hailey's cover is the one I like the most.

As someone else said I didn't dislike the fact that Ashley was in the magazine but giving a cover to a rookie is just not okay to me. I could see Gigi turning down SI next year.

Ronda's cover is terrible and i hated when Lily got the cover as a rookie and this is no exception

The cover isn't everything to some models. Hilary Rhoda and Anne V were successful without it with Hilary probably being more successful than any of the past 5 cover girls.

I don't see a rookie getting the cover as such a big deal. Really what's the difference of Hailey getting it seeing as how it's only her second year? Especially over girls who have worked a little longer like Emily D, Gigi, Nina, Chrissy, Hannah F, Chanel etc. They have to think about what sells and what's going to get them press/hype. Ashley and Ronda will do that for them and then they have regular SI type girl which will also get in people. Win win.

I don't have any problems with any of the cover models individually, but something about the way this was done feels kind of condescending and unfair to all three of them. Wouldn't it have meant more for Ashley to make some waves as a rookie and THEN get an "actual" solo cover some years down the road? This feels like one of those stupid multiple cover stunts that's pulled by mags like Elle or Glamour, where they have their "real" cover model (Emmy Rossum or whoever) and then stick their Mindy Kalings and Helen Mirrens on the alternate covers just to feel like they're honouring diversity on a technicality. 

 

Almost all of the rookies this year look exactly alike and equally forgettable. If SI really wanted to accept a diverse range of attractive women, then why not use a bunch of hot girls who actually all look different from one another? It's not hard to do, give me 5 minutes on Google and I can round up 10 amazing chicks who look nothing alike in face or body.  

 

The mag is just the standard collection of tall thin models, except with a couple token black, plus-sized or athletes sprinkled in. Something about this approach feels super patronising. Oh well, at least they didn't choose another dime-a-dozen it-girl twit who posts about "squads" and "your vibe attracts your tribe" on Instagram.
