September 11, 201410 yr agree. Russell is not Demarchelier or Ritts, he'll never be. Just stick to PINK and beach shots for the VS website imo. he will never evolve then. he has to start doing others things to hone his craft. Do you Ritts was born a great photographer. Being an artist is learning from your mistakes even with models. Models starting out do a lot crappy print work and catalog to learn how to model effectively.
September 11, 201410 yr Okay folks, the model list below is the order in which I will provide the scans for assuming they are in. I will take more request as we know more about who is in as the info comes out (list subject to change according to book layout). Adriana Brooklyn Doutzen Candice Martha Miranda Lily RosieHW Kendall Cara Shanina Jasmine Elsa Lindsay Alessandra Behati YAY! Thanks hun
September 11, 201410 yr I posted this earlier. This is his style, which is too airbrushed and B & W for me personally. I like a lot of the models in the lineup, though. I don't know anything about the book. They are of VS models with his usual photography style. If some of them overlap, it should save some scanning efforts: Here, take a look. A lot of them look like the type of stuff that would be packaged into a coffee table book: http://imgbox.com/g/K7O6GXWwBO NSFW Lots of fresh air for your... upper legs. Then there are other practical uses Fashionwise, I hope this trend disappears quickly. Nadine....... :wub2: Monika

It is practical though, yeah.
September 12, 201410 yr Honestly im excited to see everyone in this book except Kendall. Every other girl has been deserving and cant wait to see their shoots from it.It's modelling, not rocket science. Every girl in that book got there because of looks and connections, Kendall is no different.
September 12, 201410 yr If you truly believe that then great I am not even going to waste my time getting into this debate again on here.
September 12, 201410 yr It's modelling, not rocket science. Every girl in that book got there because of looks and connections, Kendall is no different. Not exactly. All other girls had to work their way up, while Kendall was just ushered into top fashion circle.
September 12, 201410 yr Lindsay flew straight to Paris and booked the opening spot of Dior right out of the gate. Alessandra got to where she is because of her friendship with Adriana and Gisele. Cara's family helped to get to where she is. And even if Kendall didn't do most of the hustle herself, I personally think it's quite impressive that Kim Kardashian went from a girl that was only known as Paris Hilton's stylist and the sister of Brandy's boyfriend to a media powerhouse simply by the power of famewhoring. So while Kendall maybe didn't work hard to get there, her family sure did.
September 13, 201410 yr I honestly don't even care she is a Kardashian, my dog has more facial expressions that she does and she also can't walk to save her life. Cara is a hot mess on the runway too but her print work is (for the most part) really solid. But let's just drop the subject, some people like her and some people don't. End of story, it's the same for literally every other model out there.
September 13, 201410 yr All About Angels: An Interview with Russell JamesIt’s no secret—we’re known for our Angels. Their hair, their look, their je nais se quois. And for the past 15 years, world-renowned photographer Russell James has been bringing them to life from behind the lens. His new book, Angels, is a photographic tribute to some of the world’s most beautiful women, including Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Doutzen Kroes, Karlie Kloss, Lily Aldridge, Martha Hunt, Sara Sampaio, Brooklyn Decker, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Kendall Jenner and Rihanna. We sat down with the mega-talented Aussie to talk Angels, Instagram insights and what it’s like to work with us for 15 years. You’ve been shooting for Victoria’s Secret since 1997. What has been your most memorable moment on set so far?I could narrow that to memorable ‘moments’ in the plural—there have been so many! I think that at last year’s Fashion Show, suddenly being asked to take a single shot of all 40 girls in the show, was up there. The girls were so pumped up from having just come off stage and I had to chase them in every direction. Oh, and the day I had our model standing by the ocean for a swim shot in Mexico. A freak wave came through and took her, me, my assistants and camera equipment out completely. Some people might say you have the best job in the world, but we know it’s not all fun and games. What’s the most challenging aspect of your work? The most challenging part is actually making it feel like ‘fun and games’ to the amazing models I am so lucky to work with. There is so much that goes into planning a shoot. The models don’t see me, the producers and the creative team planning the shoot in the weeks before. However, my goal is to have a shoot that feels fun and effortless to the models, even though it is the complete opposite in reality. When you’re photographing our models for our more provocative campaigns, is there anything you do to lighten the mood and make the girls feel more comfortable? Many things. Most importantly, I make the shoot as private as possible and cover every possible place that I don’t need a light. Also, the hairstylists, makeup artists and my assistants really have a family relationship with the models. That is very important as trust is everything when you want to push provocative.Your new book, Angels, features stunning visuals of the world’s most recognizable Supermodels. What makes these women Angels to you?All I can say is that you know who is the ‘real deal’ when you meet them. There is that ‘it’ factor and those that are the ‘real deal’ just exude it. Like Adriana—I see men and women just become speechless when she walks into a room. Lily, Candice, Karlie, Behati, Alessandra …each has their very personal, special super power. What—or who—inspired you to create Angels? The nude is an ultimate genre as a serious photographer. This is my fifth published book, however it was by far the hardest. As a photographer, I love landscapes, culture, fashion and shooting portraits of people. However, the nude is something that requires trust. For as long as humans could scratch on a rock, we have been fascinated by the human form. Many of the most famous paintings and sculptures are nudes. So I’d say I was always inspired to publish a book of nudes, however, it is only recently I felt I had earned the trust and had enough experience to do it justice. Of course, I may have failed miserably, but that’s up to the critics! What I am proud of is that with each and every subject in the book, I went over their film selects and each told me in some way shape or form they felt ‘beautiful’ in the shots. That’s the most important critique to me.We’re obviously all about social media at Victoria’s Secret. Now more than ever, our fans are experiencing your work through platforms like Instagram, Tumblr & Pinterest. What are your thoughts on social media in relation to photography?Social media already has played a huge role in photography and it will continue to do so. One of the amazing things it has done is made photographs a language. The idea of ‘a picture says a thousand words’ now plays out every day. However, like everything, we need to find our way with it. It can be a powerful tool both good and bad, so it’s like we have our training wheels on. We have all seen social media used to bring awareness to amazing things and connect like never before, and we’ve also seen it have a negative impact on people if used the wrong way. So I say ‘handle with care.’Selfies: love them, hate them or a little bit of both?Haha. I don’t do selfies myself but I sure have had some great fun looking at others take them and seen some terrific shots. I think it’s more fun looking out than at ourselves all the time. Though they are great when you are with a great friend and want to catch a moment together.Inspiring, gallery-worthy photography is an art form, but can you give our fans (and us!) some quick and easy tips on how to take the perfect photograph? You don’t have to be a professional to get a good shot these days. The amount of great cameras in phones or in point-and-shoots is amazing. For beauty, don’t get too close to your subject’s face. The lens is wide and tends to make a person’s face look round and distorted if you get too close, so you are better off taking the shot a bit further back and then zooming in on your camera. Also, lighting—a great flash is nice to skin.In daylight, keep the sun behind your subject, the direct sun tends to show the truth a little more than any of us would like.http://victoriassecret.tumblr.com/post/97307497564/all-about-angels-an-interview-with-russell-jamesNo Lindsay, huh? But get that VS promo Kendall.
