ILUVAdrianaLima Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Ah sweet nice to see this show have its own topic. I caught the first 3 episode and was quickly hooked. I need to get all caught up though before I fall too behind Quote
Cult Icon Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 The Strain is based on 3 x novels. I don't plan on watching the series, but I 'speed- read' the official graphic novel a while ago and it's pretty good story- both shocking and sickening. There are lot of cliches' and tropes used that many would catch but it's good entertainment. The story is very easily translated to TV show form due to the numerous cliffhangers and it conveys a feeling of escalation & increasing hopelessness throughout. The endings (3 of them) will not disappoint. The vampires are a lot like the ones in "Blade II" which came from the same source, Del Toro. Quote
Joe > Average Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Hmmm, I need to get caught up . Quote

PinkCouture Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 "The Strain" Renewed For Season 3 By FXFour weeks into The Strain‘s sophomore season, the FX horror drama has been picked up for a third, to air next summer. A breakout when it launched last summer, The Strain has been down in the ratings in Season 2 but continues to be strong in the adults 18-49 demo and to deliver solid DVR gains. The second episode posted 2.6 million viewers in Live+3 and 1.5 million adults 18-49.The thriller, from Guillermo del Toro and Carlton Cuse, is based on the best-selling The Strain Trilogy by del Toro and Chuck Hogan. “Guillermo and Carlton have delivered two thrilling seasons of The Strain that are captivating and visually arresting, doing justice to the original novel trilogy and meeting fans’ high expectations in the process,” said FX’s Eric Schrier. In the current second season, New York City is rapidly falling to an evil epidemic, and no one is coming to its rescue. Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and his unlikely allies tried to take down the embodiment of this evil — the Master — and failed. Now Eph and Dr. Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) concentrate on creating a biological weapon to wipe out the creatures, while Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) searches for an ancient book he hopes will reveal the strigoi’s entire history…and possibly a way to kill them. The Strain hails from showrunner/executive producer/writer Carlton Cuse, along with co-creators/executive producers/writers Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Gary Ungar, J. Miles Dale, Bradley Thompson, David Weddle and Regina Corrado serve as executive producers. FX Productions is the studio. deadline.com Hopefully Quinlan will get more screen time in season 3. And I miss Vaugn!!! He was gone too soon. Maybe the Ancients will resurrect him or something Quote
frenchkiki Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I wish the stoopid kid dies. Not turned by his creepy mama but dies painfully. Quote
PinkCouture Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 ^ As much as I don't want to admit it I do want Zach to be killed off He is just super annoying and for a child his age he doesn't seem to be very bright At least they killed off Coco (at least I hope they did). She was also super annoying and the actress who plays her isn't very good Quote
Prettyphile Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I want the entire cast to be killed off except Eichorst & Gus (mainly because I find Gus to be the only likable character and frankly he's cute as fuck!). I've honestly never disliked an entire cast of a show as much as I hate the Strains cast. Quote
frenchkiki Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 ^^ So trueThe cast of fear the walking dead is super bad too. And yes, Pink, that Coco -stripper name- fucking grand papa is a hell no!And I am still wondering what Eichorst wanted to do with his giant alien tongue to Dutch... ? Quote
