I think you guys might be surprised by how few votes are actually cast for this thing. And having a small number of votes would explain the rapid fluctuations as any uptick for one person could drastically change the percentages.

You gotta give it to them tho, at least this time they made it less obvious by starting to bump Kelly's % in the last week and not the last day like they did the past two years, it was such a joke

I'm just surprised it took people this long to understand this was rigged o.o, ROTY based on the votes should have been Erin and no one can deny it even if she did look like she was ready for a nap in 90% of her pictures. I just feel bad for Rose because I think she scored her points fair and square which means that truthfully she should have won the whole thing.

Next year they just need to quit the bullshit and don't have a vote.

Kate Bock won ROTY her year in a clearly rigged voting and she still has no cover and is still a pretty much unknown model. Hannah Davis had her name on the cover that year and now she got it ... I'm thinking maybe this time was the same? Please IMG by giving them an inset + ROTY.

As boring as she is, from this year's group Erin is probably the only Rookie with realistic cover chances in the future. I was hoping for Hailey but I see about zero buzz around her, I do hope she gets another year tho. The other five are just never getting a cover, ever, i can see Rose having a long SI career like Jessica Gomes and such but that's about it.

The Kelly love I sensed from this thread lured me in here

Seriously though, although I know the whole thing is rigged I am surprised they picked Kelly. I thought they would have rigged it in favor of Hailey b/c MJ seems to really like her and she has a lot of potential :hehe: Oh well. Another year of Kelly :nicole:

I think you're overestimating it a little bit at 50 votes a seconds. At 50 votes a second it would take less than 15 minutes to rack up 40,000 votes.

The vote ran for what 4 weeks? So 4 weeks for Kelly to get 200K votes and 6 hours to get the last 40K votes

Yep, but the interesting part is here, the actual proof they've deleted some unwanted votes.

These logs are real, I've no interest in making up numbers.

This is for statistical purposes only, I don't want to be sued by SI Swimshits ;-)

Date: Sat, 28 Feb 2015 05:11:53 GMT

Erin Heatherton, id:38644538, total:241001, percent:39.74

Kelly Rohrbach, id:38644540, total:194819, percent:32.13

Date: Sun, 01 Mar 2015 00:30:26 GMT

Erin Heatherton, id:38644538, total:194296, percent:33.71  <--- lol? She had 241k votes the day before

Kelly Rohrbach, id:38644540, total:205728, percent:35.69

A few minutes ago (yep, they kept the script online... ):

Date: Mon, 02 Mar 2015 12:32:26 GMT
Erin Heatherton, id:38644538, total:201114, percent:32.19
Kelly Rohrbach, id:38644540, total:246534, percent:39.46

As per the 50 votes/second, it was just an estimate, but not too distant from actual numbers:

Date: Sun, 01 Mar 2015 00:29:21 GMT

Kelly Rohrbach, total:205435

Date: Sun, 01 Mar 2015 00:29:23 GMT

Kelly Rohrbach, total:205511

That's about 38 votes/sec in this particular instance, but numbers were fluctuating like crazy in these moments, their mega-voting script had just started.

^ Erin has a big fanbase and they all know their girl got screw last minute, I can see why so many new members would come here to rant.

Really this makes zero sense, Erin was winning literally the whole time followed by Rose and the last three days Kelly not only beats Rose for #2 but she also ends up winning? I wish we had the numbers from the first day, I'm curious to see how it went the first 48 hours when there was hype, those are probably the only reliable numbers.

I think it has to do with agencies trying to promote their clients. A lot of award shows operate on the same principle.

Also I suspect that SI invests money for promos etc. in advance so they have more time to prepare for ROTY announcement.

Kate Bock win was made IMO as an attempt to breathe a life into her career but that didn't pan out. I mean, they are lying about her age, desperately trying to up her career but it hasn't really worked.

Interesting to note, they totally reset the numbers for all the girls on the first day. Hailey & Rose were winning by a large margin, then the reset and Erin was on top.

Don't know about that. What does Erin currently have going for her?

Her biggest contract seems to be a towel company (they make NFL and NBA merch) and that's about it.

I don't think Erin is expensive at all.
