The eyes are part of it (they look listless). I'm also not a fan of sharp cheeks, and the lips are unnaturally shaped and plump. The freckles don't thrill me but I don't think that's the big issue.

I am not attacking anyone first of all, I was not aware that asking a question would make someone feel 'pressured' heaven forbid we have curiosity.

Anyway; about Cintia's mouth, it is very plump but it is natural if that is what you are wondering or insinuating

Poor Daniella, Jessica W. Anne V., etc. It doesn't bode well for their covermodel aspirations to get passed over for a third-year model. At least ABB got out in time to be spared the insult.

I don't expect all of you to agree with me, nor is this meant as a personal attack against any of the models, it is just my opinion on the pictures and SI's personal choices on how to have these models represent.

Let's start with the body painting....

Jessica White - Face on crotch.. and as vulgar as this may seem where is the definition of well... the crotch. I realize they want to cover that, and I'm pretty sure they do this every year but either she's wearing a skimpy little sticky piece over that area or they shoved putty or something up there to give it that 'smooth I'm unisex' look. Regardless I'm still stuck on the fact that there's a face on her crotch.

Irina Shayk - I realize this is a swimsuit issue, and well clothing can be just as sexy as swimsuits, but seriously body painted tattered clothes and gravity defying breasts. I mean I like breasts that defy gravity, but I prefer when the entire breast defies it.. not just the nipple. I hate tear dropped shaped breasts.

Julie Henderson - I have no idea what she's supposed to be modeling.. green tile? o.0

Brooklyn Decker - By far the best body painting outfit, however I'm not sure I understood the 'ropes' that went between her breasts and around her neck. Another problem I had with it is it looks severely air brushed, almost to the point where you wonder if they didn't just get her to pose nude and airbrushed the map on afterwards.

On to the suits

Jessica White - Canouan Island, The Grenadines - Pink

Generic poses, manly poses, boring facial expressions, 'I'm trying really hard to be sexy' looks... Why am I not impressed. And to top it all off she has an outy bellybutton. (Sorry people I am terrified of outy bellybuttons.)

Anna V - Cappadocia, Turkey - blue, green, yellow

I am a cat, hear me roar, look at me pose... Ok, the animal kingdom called and they would like their poses back, something to do with the grooming techniques of the large cats going downhill. Also, hunchy, boy-like face and 'come get me boys I'm sexy' facial expressions.

Irina Shayk - Naples, Italy - blue, green, yellow

Last year she looked like the over-sexed blow up doll with the messy hair... this year she still looks over-sexed, still has messy hair and is still trying extremely hard to be sexy. Same poses, same facial expressions... She has yet to find something new to set her apart from the other models

Daniella Sarahbya - Naples, Italy - blue, pink, yellow

First girl I've seen give a genuine smile yet, check one in her favor. Her poses may not be the best, her modeling may leave a little bit to be desired, but her personality shines through, and she looks like she's honestly having fun. I am not her biggest fan, every time I've read her name in the past I think of the Lion King and Scar calling for Simba's mother because they're not getting enough food for him and the hyena's but.. I liked her this year.

Hilary Rhoda - Canouan Island, The Grenadines - pink

I don't get her appeal, her body isn't the best, her face isn't that impressive and her modeling leaves a lot to be desired. I think the second row second picture is kinda freaky... the line on your stomach should not travel straight down into your bikini bottoms... it just doesn't seem right. It's like a banana going down the middle of her stomach - she's pulling a katy perry.

Bar Refaeli - Canouan Island, The Grenadines - pink, yellow, black, gold

I like bar, I always have.. and it's not because she's dating Leo, which isn't exactly that impressive to begin with, (he kinda got hobbity) Regardless she got the cover this year.. that's great right? Right? Well the cover could have been much better, she kinda came across as exceptionally boring, falling far flat from the expectations I had for her.. And what's with the huge spider web like thing behind her in the bottom row second picture.. It's like she's going to trap us all in her snare and make us see her appeal, which just isn't there this year.

Tori Praver - Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain - black, white

She still remains hunchy, still doesn't know what to do with the lines of her body and is still constantly losing her neck. I've screamed about Julia Stegner having a turtle neck before... well Tori is another classic case, and it comes down to bad posture. That hunchy look works for magazines like Elle, or Teen Vogue, or anything else where you dont' want to sell sex, but SI is a magazine for grown adults, mainly men... sex has to factor in somewhere.

She reminds me of a 12 year old girl who just came into the business and is a little unsure of herself.. Come on Tori, you have a beautiful body, a pretty face and you can model, get some self confidence.

Ariel Meredith - Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo, Mexico - white

She's a pretty girl, has a look that none of the other models have and she still comes across as boring. Maybe it's the color scheme she was given to work with, maybe it's what the photographer wanted but I am not impressed.

Jarah Mariano - Canouan Island, The Grenadines - pink

Sex appeal non-existant, but if she were modeling for an all girls magazine, or a teen magazine she would be stellar. The poses for the most part are off, she has better posture then some of the girls but she comes off in a lot of ways as very innocent. I like her, she has a unique look but I don't think the shoot was appropriate for SI.

Damaris Lewis - Cappadocia Turkey - pink, yellow, green

She came across with such a strong personality on the video that I think I was expecting a lot more in her shoot. Animals... dancing poses... Bad poses... beads that look like they're trying to strangle her... Again sadly not impressed.

Julie Henderson - Cappadocia Turkey - green, purple, yellow, pink

She had some beautiful suits, some bad poses. Not necessarily bad I guess but they were stereotypical, and her body is generic. Her face leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion and over all I just wasn't all that impressed. She was probably one of the models given the most to work with and she failed to produce.

Jessica Hart - Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo, Mexico - white

If you know you have an obvious flaw you generally try to hide it. You're trying to sell to men, not a dentist and whiel there may be a few men out there who like the flawed teeth in my opinion unless you're a singer you need to get the grill fixed up. Generic poses, boring white suits... nothing special.

Melissa Haro - Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo, Mexico - white

Another model stuck with a boring color pallete. However not only does she sell sex, she looks like she's having fun. However the poses were still generic, a fun loving smile doesn't ooze personality. These girls need to find something new, something that is uniquely them. The poses remind me a lot of Josie, Petra and Isabeli and doubtless countless other models through SI history.

Jessica Gomes - Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain - gold, silver

She comes across as short and squaty, I dislike her body immensely, her face while unique isn't my cup of tea, though a friend of mine would as he so elloquently put it 'hit that', (he is however into a lot of asian porn so...) She doesn't suit SI in my opinion, and her poses were.... interesting?

Esti Ginzburg - Naples, Italy - multi color scheme *cheers*!

Well we found our Miranda Kerr of SI... Perverts and pedophiles line up. I like her, the picture with the candles was probably one of the best this year... and then you see the floaties. o.0 Seriously SI FLOATIES!? Generic poses in most of her shots, lost facial expression. However unlike some of these models who have been around for more then one year she has a reason to look slightly lost and a reason to emulate other models.. she's an 18 year old rookie. I'd like to see what she can do next year if she comes back, but over all not that impressed.

Lucia Dvorska - Cappadocia, Turkey - mixed color scheme *cheers*!

For a rookie she didn't do bad. Some of the poses are still generic and there was a lamb in a few shots, (somewhat disturbed by that but moving past it). She had some beautiful suits, some interesting looks, a mixture of sex, innocence and an endearing look of lostness that appealed. Over all not bad, I have to agree with Prettyphile, the gritty feeling just draws you in.

Cintia Dicker - Canary Islands, Spain - yellow, gold, white

Her body... is... delicious to an umpteeth degree. On the downside red hair frightens me.. She had some of the better poses, and she worked what she was given. She's not my favorite, but she is definately not the worst in the bunch. Kuddos for high fashion bringing sexy back.

Brooklyn Decker - Canouan Island, The Grenadines - pink

She is not Marisa Miller, can someone please inform her of that. Her body isn't as good, her face doesn't have the raw appeal of Ms Miller, nor can she pull off the bootylicious poses that Marisa did. She looks like she's trying so hard to do what Miller did, not realizing that Marisa had her spot light in flame and I don't see SI pulling the same look twice in a row. It's kinda irritating.

Kim Cloutier - Riviera Maya, Mexico - white

Well we're back to a white pallete, (boring). And the hair frightens me, and facial expression... and the model...

While not a bad body it isn't great, and the facial expressions are hard, not even remotely sexy. Canada has a few good exports and she just isn't one of them for me. She looks like Nicole kidman... it's like a bad country song and it just keeps going downhill.

Most of these models look better in video.. the pictures just sucked

Irina dissipointed me, i was expecting something better of her ... & once again, her bodypaint was uuugh, awful!

& of course the best for me was Bar, but that's b/c love is blind & i love her ... But she looks so much better in the videos!

and kelvinc, I am a Cintia fan, but I am not one of those Uber-Fans that freaks out when someone does not like their model! I like hearing what people have to say about her and Cintia is not a big deal on this forum so don't worry about that

It's funny, I always liked Marisa but I never considered her a "great" SI model until today... her presence is very much missed in this issue, I think, even if you don't like her.

Also, I love Cintia, but I can get why people don't find her appealing. She has freckles, she has a slightly lazy eye, and very plush lips. To me she's stunning, but I can understand how to other people she may seems a little puffy and angular. I love that everyone has different opinions here and can express them!

I think for 2010 SI could really do with upping it's image ( as it seems to be trying to do) and maybe even scouting some AMAZING girls themselves who have the full SI package - gorgeous body, face, and vibrant personality - and perhaps contracting them for a few years so that people will get to know them as SI girls, and buy SI to see THEM, you know?

They also need to revamp their photo shoots ( This seems to be an agreed on issue in this thread). I know Julie Campbell used to attend all of the photo shoots in her day and over-see them to make sure the photographers did what SI wanted ( I even remember in one video a photographer told two of the girls to " put their buns together" and Campbell said, " No hips!" LOL!) Maybe right now it's just the photographers being left to work with the models basically on their own, and therefore IMO that would explain the more bland shoots, since the photogs maybe just think, " It's SI. It's swimwear. Eeh, just look sexy!"

I dunno, that's just a theory and it's probably wrong!

I really feel that if they simply added ( or " re-added") three things to the photo shoots it would make a huge difference: More movement, more emotions, and more props ( Not cheesy ones, but ones that fit the environment like they used to have, e.g Kathy Ireland with the mounted fish)

If they did all this, the issue could be top-notch again ( I think, anyway)

God, I really wish they had a feedback option at the SI site!

^ I dunno if there is a " specific reason" ( maybe someone else could say more xxx) but I know there has been speculation that her cover last year was her " send off" from SI and that she's just focusing on being a VS angel now.

Personally, I hope that's not true. I can't see why she couldn't do both, you know? Unless VS don't want her doing SI anymore... I dunno.

She could just being taking a break this year for what ever reason. Maybe she'll be back next year! Hey, she's got a cover but she hasn't beat Elle's record yet! lol!

Wanna hear something surprising? I've got the issue in my possession and Bar only has FIVE pictures in the issue!

The girl with the most photos is Brooklyn Decker followed by Irina. The only difference here is that Bar has a 3-page foldout picture.

Also, Marisa makes a cameo appearance in the issue but I won't tell you where though. I'll be back later with some UHQ scans, so hang on to your jockstraps!
