If I was a VS Angel, I’d make sure to get an invite to events like the Cannes Film Festival, Oscar parties etc. There are bound to be high-end jewellery designers etc. who would want a model to wear their designs on the red carpet. But I love movies and maybe some of the models don’t care as much

So it’s not just Candice and Adriana. Adriana had no idea when Behati’s wedding was. Candice was of course invited to the wedding. But to be fair, it's not like Behati invited all the Angels expect Adriana. And when Rihanna performed at the Met Gala a couple of years ago, Candice and Adriana were standing next to each other watching the performance and Behati was standing on the other side of Candice.

I wonder if that ended up being bad advice for her. Maybe it made her too passive in showing that she’d like to be back? Or the people at SI didn’t like her being so frank. But yes, it could be that she was just a casualty of the rookie class being so competitive that year. There were only 5 rookies and Ashley was on the cover, Barbara won Rookie of the Year and Bojana seems to be quite popular.

Btw, I was on a little bit of a Tanya Mityushina kick recently! I find it a bit weird that she didn’t make it in the issue after her rookie year since she was part of the infamous Family Feud team. It’s a bit awkward because in an interview she commented that someone had told her not to expect to be asked back i.e. just because you are in the issue doesn’t guarantee a spot for the following year.

Body positivity is a major trend right now and booking Ashley paid off for SI. She has had an incredible year. Two Vogue covers, named in TIME’s 100 most influential people of 2017 list, a Barbie doll by Mattel was made in honour of her etc. SI has to follow the times too.

Has she found another talking point aside from how amazing it was to be named an Angel?
