Thank you for the tip! The pain she felt, she inflicted on others so maybe therapy helped her to get some tools to deal with her anger. But she was known as a bully, no one liked her so she hung out with a girl (her partner in crime) who wasn’t all there mentally, and she was manipulative and enjoyed the hurt she caused others. So, I’m not sure she was able to grow up to be a normal loving mother who is not cold or scary or uncaring towards her child. In the case of James Bulgar, the child killers seem to have not been fully rehabilitated. On the other hand, it wasn’t discovered that they had suffered the kind of abuse that Mary Bell had. So, there isn’t much of an explanation for what they did.

Thank you! Damn, to find out like that what your mother has done! I read that the anonymity of her grandchild is protected as well. Hopefully, she was able to be a good mother for her child but it seems unlikely that one could ever fully come back from the things that she did. On the other hand, she was a child when she committed her crimes so maybe there was a possibility for rehabilitation. Sort of like in the “Child of Rage” documentary?

Yep, one really has to question her “battered wife” defence. She is predatory. I also want to know what happened to Mary Bell! Apparently, she had a child. I don’t know whether that kid could ever have a normal upbringing…

I would be mad as hell if I was a parent whose child was at that school! In the eyes of the law, she has paid her debt to society but that still doesn’t mean that officials are in the right when they take the position that Karla should be treated like everyone else!
