  1. Alyssa Miller for Gina Tricot: Her legs and walk look amazing <3 A backstage video of the shoot:
  2. As much fun as it might be to see Marisa on a movie screen I'd rather watch her and not some character I have a feeling that if she really wants to host she can make it happen. People hate on Chrissy Teigen but she has managed to get all sorts of gigs so why not Marisa I do selfishly wish that her show would somehow involve beauty / lifestyle etc.
  3. You know I would love it if she got some sort of hosting job (outside of NFL ;D). I think she would be great at it. Her personality was what drew me in and I think it's a big part of her success. Becoming one of the most popular SI models, becoming a Victoria's Secret Angel etc.
  4. I did not have high expectations so it was ok There was not enough Marisa. I am not saying this b/c I am a Marisa Militia Member. Some of the scenes in which they switched between Jeff & Ryan's characters and their avatars (played my Marisa & Jame Hong) were poorly edited. The switches often did not flow well and it was confusing perspective-wise. They also only last for a few seconds. I think if they showed more of the avatar perspective and made those scenes slightly longer it would have been better I think some models should stick to modeling. In Marisa's case I am not sure b/c of the lack of screen time she had on R.I.P.D. Rosie, I haven't seen Transformers yet so I have no comments. I heard she did pretty bad Brooklyn, I've only seen "What to Expect..." Although her performance was far from Award-grade she did better than expected From what I have gathered Kate's role in The Other Woman is bigger than Marisa's on R.I.P.D.
  5. They have always maintained that they are friends. Kate Upton will model for Chrissy Teigen's Beach Bunny line. However, I don't think it's close super comfortable friendship. Maybe they figure it's more beneficial to be friends. I think there might sometimes be a little edge. Competitive. And it's funny how quickly Kate's laugh stops in that Swim Daily video around 0.36.
  6. Yes! And thank you for noticing more pictures! Gavin looks adorable. Are you planning on seeing Marisa's movie, PinkCouture?
  7. There are two more pictures that haven't been posted over at Swim Daily that I can't get to right now. http://swimdaily.si.com/2013/08/26/marisa-miller-san-francisco-49ers/
  8. More pictures from the game (San Francisco 49ers Twitter):
  9. I think Candice is also in the running. They just love her at Victoria's Secret!
  10. ^ Probably a nice democratic way to decide the order I guess they get enough hits that it doesn't matter whose name they highlight.
  11. A video interview of Kate and Chrissy Teigen from Swim Daily:
  12. How about models you wish had taken a turn on the catwalk? I would have loved to see Gemma "Doll" Ward and Kate "Cool" Moss made up Victoria's Secret style! I guess it's never too late.
  13. Jaime King has been captivating me recently She has such a "model face". Also her facial symmetry reminds me of Behati Prinsloo. Celebrity Ghost Stories video is great because it's basically a long close-up of her face (two options in case one of them doesn't work for some). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXfspA6ENxI
  14. ^ My thoughts exactly! In particular since she has already dipped her toe in the Japanese ad pool: I think that out of the young models she is definitely one of those who has potential to be some day in the Forbes list especially if she gets the "Angel contract".
  15. I'm glad that Kate's career turned out this way because I remember being a little concerned for her for awhile there. The money is hard to resist but there is a risk of burning out if you do too many commercials. (That's why celebrities go to Japan to get big money.) The risk of selling out is naturally higher for actors etc. but even for models it can be bad if it lowers their brand value. It all worked out well for Kate in the end because she was able to transition to editorials and women's magazine covers and the commercials she did (not all bad by any means) were able to prove how many views she can get on Youtube and mentions on different sites which surely helped her secure her Superbowl commercial + teaser (a car ad meant for a younger generation). For longevity, it's better to hold out for bigger things instead of agreeing to advertise for all kinds of mundane products. If Linda Evangelista had churned out "Pizza Hut" commercials, she at 40 something years old would not have secured a big cosmetics contract. I think the numbers might be more accurate in regard to models who are directly involved in a business because then Forbes can access some company records and numbers whereas most models seem to have one on one contracts with clients and those numbers are more or less a ball park figure. PS. Karlie's Kookies is in part charity so I'm not sure to what extent it's a serious business vs. a passion and a hobby that is making money on the side.
  16. Kate was once on a path of doing one random commercial after another but that seemed to change and she has gone for more editorial work. However, if she can get big movie money or a beauty contract who knows Frankly the whole Doutzen thing makes her big clients Victoria's Secret and L'Oreal look kinda bad. They used to take care of their girls and keep them at the top but now other models are passing by!
  17. I've always wondered why these big companies with a lot of money budgeted for marketing don't hire more models that have been proven to be successful at selling products. At most, you'll find out 10 years later that chick from a hit TV show was doing a commercial way back when. I would think that there would be enough models willing to take the work because they aren't trying to win an Oscar. I guess many companies are very conservative and fear chancing advertising strategy. But if you ever want to beat Coca-Cola you gotta live large...
  18. For me and probably to most people they are in the boring everyday product category. More companies should try to elevate these kinds of grocery store products. The fact that Miranda's Lipton ad was in Japan and Alessandra's campaign was in Brazil proves that they know it's not the most blue chip work and should be kept at arm's length.
  19. Whaaaat I didn't know that about Alessandra XD XD Usually a model or an actress starts out doing those commercials and hopes to move up in the world. In a way it's cute that she loves to work. I gotta hand it out to those companies like Always and Lipton. If I had a less than top shelf product, I too would try to get a big model to be the face of it.
  20. Yeah, I would love to know the "pure" modelling money. You don't see Heidi or Tyra on that list because it would be a little unfair to compare them with regular models. In my opinion, Gisele skates the line but she is doing a lot of traditional modelling so I guess that's why she can be put against models. Alessandra is a weird one for me also because in that article they write about Adriana: her supermodel seniority comes with a super-sized deal, and it’s more lucrative than any other current modeling contract in the company. Alessandra is also considered one of the big veterans and there was talk that she too was offered a massive VS beauty contract but who knows...
  21. This was for the past 12 months, so miranda's VS contract and that other contract she was also dropped from counts here. Yes that's what I meant because even if she didn't perform like they hoped or for some other reason they didn't renew her contracts she still got paid enough to put her on this list. The future is naturally anyone's guess but if she continues on with Kora she could be earning even more next year. It's clear that Gisele's big lead comes from her having her own businesses and not just from fashion modelling. I meant that as in knocking someone like Doutzen out of the list.
